The league starts at the end of the 2001 season which contained 14 teams.

14 "coaches" get 1 team each.

I will post each team's top 25 man squad and their age for the 2002 season.

You keep the same roster every year with the exception that there will be a rookie draft for players that entered the NRL that season.

The first draft will be based on reverse order of the 2001 season's finishing order.

At the end of every draft I will pick the finishing order for that year based on how good the players were at that age.

I will then do a poll for the top 4 teams and everyone votes on which team was the champion for that season.

We then move onto the next season and another draft for players that entered that year.

Players have to retire at the age of 33.

You pick your best starting 13 and 4 bench players for every season.

I pick the Bulldogs.

If you're interested just name the team that you want.

Please only active people as you get 24 hours max to make your draft pick.

Whoever has the Penrith Panthers will have the number 1 pick in the draft. Cowboys 2 etc...

2001 ladder:

01. Parramatta Eels
02. Canterbury Bulldogs
03. Newcastle Knights
04. Cronulla Sharks
05. Brisbane Broncos
06. Sydney Roosters
07. St George Illawarra Dragons
08. New Zealand Warriors
09. Melbourne Storm
10. Manly Sea-Eagles
11. Canberra Raiders
12. Wests Tigers
13. North Queensland Cowboys
14. Penrith Panthers

*looks left, looks right* ... is anyone else confused as hell about all this?
What’s confusing about it?

You get a nrl team’s roster from 2001. Then we have a rookie draft to add players to that team from rookies that season. We vote on which team wins. It’s a more advanced version of the draft we usually have every year.

For instance Panthers came last in 2001 so whoever takes Panthers they get the first pick of the 2002 rookies. Those rookies included Thurston, Cameron Smith etc.

Ahhh okay so you get the 2001 Bulldogs side, then can add 2002 rookies to it.. then your side in 2002 can add 2003 rookies to it?

Exactly! 1 rookie can make a massive difference. For instance adding Cameron Smith or JT in 2002. They won’t make your team a title winner in 2002 but by 2005 they are amazing.

Just a bit of fun to pass the time

That’s why I won’t do individual matches. I’ll just pick the top 4 teams and we’ll have 1 vote for the best team
