I have no great animus against the Panthers. I give them much respect. But they are another Sydney team. Any Bulldogs supporter hoping a rival Sydney team prevails when there is an alternative is weak.

Sorry... it's as simple as that. Panthers vs. Eels/Souths, no brainer. I hate the Bronx, but I hoped they'd win.

Write it down, learn it by rote. No Sydney rivals should taste the success that is evading us.

Starting to think To'o is one of the Panthers more important players after Cleary. He doesn't get dominated and always makes metres and breaks tackles. Without him, Panthers will struggle to get out of their own end so easily. No other winger in the game consistently does what To'o does.

Imagine having Kiraz and To'o on both sides, I'd happily give him JACs money.
To'o is the most important player. Easy to scoff... he's easily been the driving reason they've had this success. Look at what he has done in the last month or so. That kick return by the Panthers that took them to half way on the first, that's par the course when To'o gets involved.

Granted, he needs Edwards there too. But To'o is the main driver. Edwards needs to make a clean break, To'o just bullocks through and escapes if you can't hold on.

NAS is a massive loss for the Storm. Just lost his appeal.

Still thinking Storm (and hoping Storm) If Storm win atleast that’ll stop Panthers in their tracks for next season and give other teams hope that another club can win a goddamn GF!!! :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: I just want there to be some competition, good on Panthers for winning so many times but I’ve really had enough. :tearsofjoy: Storm have been the better team all season long, the last game they were very impressive.

High calibre game and I seem to always enjoy games when either team is playing, let alone playing each other

think storm will win, strike around the park. Can’t count out the riff though but I think Clearys shoulder will be an issue

Been a 'Doggies fan since '76 and always will be but outside of Belmore Oval I have spent more time watching Rugby League at Penrith Park as I used to meet up with my late brother-in-law to watch the 'Doggies play the Panthers there through the '90's. Have been there a few times with family as I also became a member of Panthers as my sister lives in the area.

They reminded me then of Bulldogs when we won in 1980 for the first time in 38 years, a good side with a blend of experience and youth in a Rugby League stronghold area. They're my 2nd team I follow. I believe they can make it 4 in a row, it won't be easy though, against the minor premiers.

Gus, Chris Mortimer, the Big Marn Darryl Bro, Critta, Kiks and Burton links also cement where my loyalty lies.

Just glad the Rorters, Soufffs and Sharks never made it. Oh, you can throw in Manly as well.

I suspect in the next coming days NRL will be doing a 2 for 1 ticket deal. Last year there were more Broncos fans than Panthers, so Panthers fans aren’t really interested in attending grand finals anymore. Storm fans either it seems- could it be flight and hotel prices that are deterring them from coming? Or they’re just like panthers fans and aren't as interested paying a huge amount to see their team win? Shocking amount of tickets are still available. Not a good look at all

To’o has been huge for them. Edwards looks 60% max his not moving around well in attack like his usual self.

Well they coulda had us there with our huge loyal supporter base but they chose to prefer Mamly so the opportunity to gather up our momentum to the GF died! ;)

I’ve been warming up to the storm since Smith retired

credit where credit is due with the storm , they got caught in cap (and other then dogs. Only team to cop it really. Sharks allowed to keep theirs , roosters we all know it are above). But what I like about storm , they just produce nobodies that do a great job . They don’t buy comps like roosters

Dont care who wins.. dont know fans from either club .. and not rivals with either club.. On paper best NRL GF in ages..

Unlike the Rorters who build a roster by recruiting ready made NRL stars from other teams and the biggest names available.. these two clubs have built their teams by developing players..

What, do you really think that salary cap cheating, free boat give aways, invention of player injuring wrestling tactics and unlimited TPA's has stopped just because Smith left? Pigs might fly.

Yes they do! Bellamy's base is to recruit the best spine money can buy, whether he recruits them from SE Qld feeder clubs or elsewhere. The rest of the team are simply role players that he rehearses every minute of ever day to just do what they are told and stay well within their limited comfort zones. He ensures that they are fit and capable of playing week in week out, mentally and physically and absolutely avoids complicating their lives.

How many times have we heard Melbourne players say that Bellamy "keeps it simple"? What that means is he puts you in a box and you only do what is within the box. Step outside the box and he will fall on you like a tonne of bricks, recent reference NAS, he stepped outside Bellamy's box.

Anyway I want Penrith to win, because:

(A) It keeps the title in Western Sydney, the TRUE Rugby League Heartland in this country, and;
(B) Thwarts/fights off the continuous threats that GWS pose to our grass roots.

I read an article many years ago in a newspaper (remember them) about the Melbourne Storm processes that were put in place very early.

One of their officials was former St George forward and Grand Finalist from the early '90's in Craig Smith.

Bellamy makes aware to his players that they are very fortunate to do what they're doing.

Playing a game, they love and earning huge money so every off season it is mandatory that every player spend at least a month doing a 9 to 5 job like the many fans who come to the game to spend their money on following their favourite club(s). He was giving them a reality check.

Any new players to the club who rejected to do this were given a piece of paper from Craig Smith with Bellamy's name on it and asked to take it up with him.

Very few accepted.
