But why would you move an international Fullback for an unknown rookie who hasn’t proven himself in 7 first grade games? If he’d shown even the slightest glimpse of brilliance then I would agree with you, but he hasnt.
We are still rebuilding that's why, like I mentioned before, Is Hopoate a good enough fullback for when we are ready to challenge for a premiership?, He isn't and that's the sad truth but with Meaney you don't know yet and why not let him gain NRL experience so why the time our salary cap is back in order and we can add to our team we could potentially have our fullback position sorted. Meaney isn't going to gain much else playing in reserve grade, he has about 10 games in first grade now and looked more and more comfortable each time. His defence is shocking but hopefully under a coach who like Pay who values defence and toughness he can help Meaney improve. There aren't any good fullbacks off contract in 2019 anyway so we will have to persist with Meaney for the next 2 seasons as is anyway.
