Absolutely; though the jury is now out on whether it was a stampede. More study required - it may just be overlays of footprints over a period of days.
Has a better marketing ring to it :grinning:

Interesting trip after days of heavy rain. The short bits of sealed road are for areas of very heavy run off, and landing strips for the Flying Doctor; otherwise, it's like driving on soap up to the axles.

We went through 2 spares getting there 7 years ago. I hope the road has improved. Surely it has lol.

What did you think of the place?

They can't determine what the creatures were because there are no bones nearby as evidence. They think that maybe the big guy was the recently described Australovenator Wintonensis, whose statue stands outside the Age of Dinosaurs museum, but it could have been anything.
The trackway continues into the hill, but there are no plans to dig further; they want to keep that for future reference, or a backup if there is any more damage to the exposed prints.

There are other tracks in the area, but they are not being excavated, or their location given out, for fear of trophy hunters.

Very impressed with the physical site and the evidence that Australia had it's very own indigenous dinosaurs.

Like most attractions in Australia though, we thought there could have been more interactive displays and more made of the sight as it really is unique.

We've spoken to a lot of people who either had never heard of it, or, didn't want to take the chance on the poor road conditions to the remote location.

A shame as it is worth it.

If you have your own small plane, there is an airstrip nearby. Pretty Rough, though.
