Watched episode 9 of From (season 3)

Unfortunately, it's another dead average episode. Almost fell asleep watching it. The only good thing in the episode was that at the end, it seems like they've confirmed the main theory people have about who Tabitha really is.
Yes - another boring episode. All we want is monsters, and they tease us with it for about 5 seconds with one speaking to Boyd and his son outside the diner, and the other for about 5 seconds in Tabitha's vision, but FFS they really do know how to make the episodes boring.

By the way how did you manage to watch it on Sunday? They don't usually stream on Stan until Monday.

In some parts of the world it gets streamed early. And I can be in those parts of the world. Kinda.

I've started watching The Diplomat on Netflix. It has really high ratings on IMDB etc, but TBH, its feeling a bit of a paint-by-numbers American political drama.

Basically a deocated but no-nosense military captain and career diplomat (Kerrri Russell), finds herself thrust in the job of Ambassador to the UK after one of their warships is atttacked and 40 crew members are killed, and she has to try to convince the Brits not to go to war with Iran etc..

Her husband is an old Ambassador himself (played by Rufus Sewell) - charming but a pain in the arse to many. The US President is played by the guy who was Chuck Magill in Better Call Saul. British PM by Rory Kinnear. There's also that Asian chick from The Path.

i'll keep watching it to see if its gets better, but its not really grabbing me at the moment.

It gets better (84% on Rotten Tomatoes), Series 2 is really good (95% on Rotten Tomatoes) and last month they commissioned a Series 3.

I watched the latest episode of Cobra Kai for season 6, part 2.

FMD. The all-in-brawl that seemed to go on for ages was one of the best I've ever seen in all television/cinematic history. Outstanding. I'll watch that episode again just to see that segment again.

I like Keri Russell, but the way this show was hyped originally, I was expecting 'The Americans' quality. Sadly, not even close. I haven't watched series 2, so I can't comment if it got better or not.

Just finished The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 & The Cage. Good shows but I hate when seasons end on a cliffhanger.

Season finale of From. Really boring episode just like every other episode. Good ending though. Doesn't quite make up for how boring the episode was. But still a good ending.

Forgot to mention that while I found the episode pretty boring, it actually revealed a lot. Many of the mysteries. Problem I had was that it was pretty much what the theories all guessed it was, so it felt less exciting.

I didn't mind it tbh.

They do need to ramp up the monsters next season though.

I haven't really followed the fan theory stuff, but did see the Tabitha - Victors mum one, so that was expected. The ending caught me off guard, did not see that coming.

The whole Eljin thing came to nothing as well, him giving up the info or not made no difference to the outcome. Sarah going medieval was a nice touch still.

The Sarah bit actually confused me. At first it didn't look at all like her but that didn't seem to phase Jim at all. Apart from the obvious shorter hair, she looked more pale, so not sure what that was about.

As for Jim... FFS I hope he hasn't been killed off. He's been one of my favorite characters.

They definitely need more monsters next season, every 2nd episode at least.

I think the monster that Fatima gave birth to was the freak that grins which Boyd killed last season. At least that's what it looked like.

Sarah looked different because it wasn't current Sarah. What they're saying is that in the future she mastered the time travel thing and she travelled back in time to attempt to save her dad. Which obviously failed.

On the monster, yeah, you're right. It's the grinning monster that died. Fatima says in the episode that they did a deal with some powerful entity. They sacrificed their children, and the entity made them immortal. Since one died, the entity found a way to bring him back. So even if you kill a monster, it will return.

Also, not sure if you missed it, but what they're saying is that Jade and Tabitha were part of the original group that found the place (hundreds of years ago). The rest of the people sacrificed their children which gave them eternal life (and they became the monsters), but Jade and Tabitha refused. They sacrificed Jade and Tabitha's daughter, but they were still locked into the sequence. So everytime Jade and Tabitha die, they reincarnate then return there.

I think the hint is that eventually they have to find a way to travel back in time and change history so their children never die, therefore making it so the monsters never became monsters, and the entity loses its power.

That's the bit I missed, I couldn't tell she traveled back in time, just that she looked different. It will be interesting if both Sarah's are in the show now... or if a Jim from the past comes in as well.

I do recall the Fatima bit and understood that bit perfectly, and I did remember them mentioning sacrificing children to make them live forever - so that's fine.

I couldn't put the Jade and Tabitha bit together. I know that they were talking about children and there was a connection between them but didn't figure it out the way you did so thanks for clearing that up.

Where's Cobra Kai at? I'm trying to save the final season once everything is released but I'm getting antsy.

I watched a great documentary on Netflix, Will and Harper. It sees Will Ferrell and his great friend of 30 years, transgender Harper Steele, formerly Andrew Steele (who was a writer on SNL and where they met), taking a 17 day road trip across the United States. It deals with Steele, and her transition to becoming a woman. It is a raw, heart warming, and emotional journey. It is certainly an insight into what transgender people face, both in acceptance by others, which at times can be hurtful, but other times can be quite surprisingly good, and also the acceptance within themselves, discovering who they really are meant to be. If you give it a chance, you may learn something, I know I did.
