Such a great series Hacky. I wonder if they will make that certain decision that they did in the the second game that angered gamers so much. It will be very interesting if they stay faithful to the narrative, because it was very divisive. I think they should, but I’d be surprised if they do, because the dynamic between Pascal and Ramsey is great.

The question they need to ask: Is it the actors that drive the show or the story?

ps. great to see Ashley Johnson, the voice of Ellie from the game in the show..her voice is unmistakable!
I can almost guarantee you that they will stick to the story, including that decision.

Druckmann and Naughty Dog have always been straight forward in saying that every decision they made was there for a reason. And prior to LTOU2, that end part was the most divisive thing. People hated it because it turned Joel into the bad guy. But they doubled down on it.

It's also important to note that if they remove that scene, then they have to change the whole story. Completely change. It will no longer be a story about loss, revenge, and the impacts of PTSD on mental health. If they did that, they may as well just end the show here and create a new show with Pedro Pascal escorting a young individual...

Finally got started on Star Trek: Picard on Prime, which is currently in its 4th season.

I like the premise - Jean Luc, long retired under controversial circumstances, in his vineyard in France, goes for one final mission to, at least in part, honour an old mate (Data).

I wouldn't say i'm a "Trekkie", but I did watch TNG as a kid with my sister, so always liked those era characters, and I understand there will be guest roles from the old gang.

Last of Us were fantastic stand alone episodes, taken together as series it on reflection was so rushed and consequently undermined what it was trying to convey. Blew the load with Kathleen and that shit, David needed to be 2 parts and involve Infected like the game. Imagine 8.5 episodes and resolving the finale with a montage.

Can't wait for the Troon next season shitting in Joel's toxic masculinity.
Totally not subtext to have father figure executing the doctor who stole away his underage daughter to dissect her "for the greater good"
.

Also I just watched Outlast in Netflix.. meant to be survivor but the contestants work in groups and can't vote each other off. Within 3 episodes it devolves into Lord of the flies absurdity with people destroying camps and stealing supplies. The show was meant to last up to a year like Alone, but after a month the producers changed the challenge into a race.

Very bizarre

First season isn't great. It has some interesting stuff but it's mainly pretty bad. Second season also not the best. Third season gets better, and delves into some pretty deep stuff. Fourth season so far has been brilliant.

Finally got around to season 2 of Warrior Nun. Not exactly Shakespeare, but I enjoyed it. I probably wouldn't recommend it to Diehard Catholics though as it gets pretty sacrilegous. Without spoiling much, think along the lines of Assassin's Creed and the Isu. The idea that Jesus and God are just ancient alien beings. And they do cover Jesus in this.

Enjoyable show though. And it felt like it wrapped up nicely at the end of season 2. Of course they did the usual, "Nah, more comming", but fortunately the show was axed. They don't need a 3rd season. Wraps up well in 2 seasons.

Does The Last of Us spoil the game if you haven't played it?

Swear it's on the list of "things to eventually finish".

Currently been working slowly through Bear Grylls "Worlds Toughest Race". Struth some of those athletes absolutely flog the hell out of themselves.

Also keeping up to date with Ru Pauls Drag Race, as well as You (Netflix).

Yep. There are some differences, but the majority of the story is the same as the game. So you can watch the show or play the game. Effectively the same thing.

If and when you are going to play something it needs to be the top of the list, I wouldn’t watch the show until you have played the game first.

Game is better than the show and quiet a experience.

It has Bob Odenkirk as the lead.
I think first ep has dropped but it's a watch weekly gig..looks OK.

Sad Mayor Of Kingstown has ended hope there is a 3rd season, seems to have been left open for one.Terriffic show I thought.

Enjoying Last King Of The Cross, i kinda admire Johnny in that he has never been convicted of any crimes lol

I have tried real hard to get into the The Last of Us, several times in fact, but to me it's just boringly predictable with each episode nothing more than a rewrite of the previous episodes. I have never played the game and after discussing it with many people the ones who like/love the series also liked/loved the game. Conversely those who have no interest in the game dislike/hate the series. Albeit a small sample, but very consistent in the segregation of opinions.

Have you noticed that under investigation show? With Liz Hayes..

They never solve anything? They just drudge up old stories and air the dirty laundry but no result
