I recall the Victory vs FC game where a brawl happened post-game and a Victory supporter was stabbed in the back. Yet no action was taken by the FFA. So there are double standards in this case.Thats how a lot of the Wanderers fans who follow NRL saw it. They call it the classic NRL Gallop reaction. A lot of wanderers believe nothing will come out of this because this wont help stop the 'violence' at a-league games
In say that though, there is absolutely no doubt we have crazy elements amongst our fan base. It is one thing to generate noise at the game, and it is another thing to intimidate. Hiding faces? Shirts off? Intimidating opposition supporters off-field? It is unnecessary and not needed. Sing, shout, show passion. Yes, other fan bases might have some of these ratbags also. But let's admit we have a problem and fix our own backyard.
The points-sanction hanging over WSW will bring some sanity back to the supporter base. The true supporters won't want to harm the majority of the fans, players and the club.
