Whats with the new annoying ad thing at the bottom of the page. It scrolls down with you and have to close it everytime you go to a new page.

It was painfully slow during and after the game on Friday night,
I could barely get on let alone comment?

Yep. We noticed so we've bumped up the back end to see how it copes next week. And if it's still slow, we'll upgrade more.
