We didn’t get enough out of Phil Gould. He left with unfinished business. He is a business and footy brain that we need. He can support the coaching team, help develop a bulldogs talent academy and build a new 25,000 stadium.. He can do it! He can bring in gun players and he is the DNA we need at the mighty club. Let’s all push for it.

No thanks. Gould's plans didn't work at Penrith. What benefit has St George got from his recent review. Time to look to the future not the past. Appoint a decent coach and you don't need someone looking over their shoulder.

15 out of 17 players on that Penrith side that beat the Sharks 56-24 debuted with the club. They have a premiership contender thats basically home bred. Only Api and Tamou didnt debut with the Panthers. Honestly, thats astonishing. Bring Gus in.

A few from that sharks side debuted at Penrith too! They have plenty enough for us to poach when barret comes over as well.
Not sure what Gus has to do with the population of greater western Sydney though. But who know.

StGeorges benefit is Gould recommenced that they get decent quality help for McGregor and that’s why Flanagan is there and making a huge difference now that McGregor is actually listening to him.

Penrith’s benefit is that they still exist, they were is deep shit before Gould got them on track business wise. Plus he reinstated their heavy promotion of local juniors that is paying dividends.

Of course not everything Gould does works out, but can anyone truly say theirs does?

Flanagan ain't"helping out" he's coaching.. surely that's obvious now.. what is the point of having a useless coach and a assistant coach that runs the show..

As for gus getting Panthers to focus on juniors .. that's hardly visionary material.. any brain dead moron could of figured that out (ahm Dib, Des and Rae). especially in penrith who have one of the best catchments in the country...

Griffin was heavily responsible for junior development and growth at Penrith and Gould has himself acknowledge that several times.

If you read my posts I don't agree with Chris Anderson pulling the strings either. Which decent coach has someone behind them doing that. Get a decent coach and the freedom to make those choices. BTW try making your point with the need for petty insults too.

A coaching director and general manager are two different roles.

Yes, Gould attracted money to Penrith and re-established junior systems but he also stuck his bib into everything and moved on a coach who was later re-employed by the club. He also moved on another coach who had them sitting in the top 4 at a crucial time. The ultimate sign of success in this competition is a premiership and none have been achieved there during his time.

If you employ a decent coach there's no need for someone else to be a director. You talk about the salary restrictions on coaching units, employing someone like Gould would reduce money needed in other areas.

No one is denying he hasn't got good football knowledge and business skills though.

Griffin is a master of bringing in awesome young talent. Did that with broncos all those years ago, ie Hunt Gillett etc

To be fair though, with Brisbane's catchment a bad egg salad would bring in awesome young talent
