Showed today he's got nothing. Cogger passed to no-one AGAIN when we were in the opposition 20m but he should have got more game time (unless he was injured ?). Yes we bag Lewis and I agree he's not good enough either but at least he can kick long and can come up with some decent tackles. If we start with Wakeham next year (while Green is still recovering) we're at a huge disadvantage from game 1. Might have to start with Lewis and Avo (unless we can get Burton early)

Now for the start of the season we're already without 3 players from our starting 13 in Oka, Green and Thompson How F..ked !
Okay has cheekbone fracture,I think someone said 6 to 8 weeks, the season doesn’t start for another 5 months with. Bit of luck Thompson might get of because we’ve had such a shit season they might feel sorry for us,and with the quicker recovery times for injuries today who knows, positive thinking .

Lewis has got a great long kicking game, that's fantastic, straight to the opposition winger or fullback.

But why do we always need a long kicking game, because we go nowhere in sets.

Every half currently at the club is lacking.
Yes it really frustrates me when Lewis or any half kicks down the throat of the opposition fullback or winger. In the Souths game Lewis actually found some space with a couple of kicks before he got injured. Having a long kicking game can relieve so much pressure. As we saw against the Panthers we were kicking on the 5th from around our own 20 metre line so then every set the Panthers were back in our half early in the tackle count. Players then get gassed in defending close to their line and then have little energy in the tank for attack.

When receiving penalties also it's a huge advantage to have a big boot when kicking for the sideline. An extra 20 to 30 metres can save 2-3 hits ups to get the same field position.

Haven't seen enough of Wakeham either way. Has never played more than a few games in a row, with inconsistent halves pairings, usually behind a well dominated pack, and with the worst dummy half service around. He has to own his bad kicks and passes, but most young players make those errors when they're starting. Good on you if you picked him as good or bad early on and turn out to be right, but there's not enough evidence to claim it yet IMO.

Frawley master class tonight
It's interesting you should bring this up.
People are forgetting that our system has been very stale for quite some time now. Rarely a player has improved considerably under the previous regime. The game has gotten quicker, the players are better conditioned and most teams are adapting. But we have fallen behind badly. Add to that Despot's and The Pie Eater's disregard for nurturing any up-and-comers, we find ourselves in this position.

This whole debate around Lewis Vs. Wakeham is pointless at this stage. Not only because of the new coaching staff next year, but each need equal amount of opportunities to prove what's best for the team.

A player who needs more time in reserve grade (he still hasn't had one full season in reserve grade because of the lack of options at the club he got fast tracked from under 20s to first grade), who's surrounded by the team coming second last against the team top of the table who are both great at attack and defence, what exactly were you looking to see?

Still has more potential than that shit lewis.

So, is Lewis NOT surrounded by the team coming second last? Or is that only an excuse for Wakeham and somehow not Lewis? :unamused:

He has ability, not sure what the fuck you lot are expecting when he plays a game here and there in one of the worse sides in the NRL while his confidence has also been smashed to bits. He has got the job done in the lower grades and while playing for Fiji and I'd much rather persist with a bloke with ability that's struggling to transition to firstgrade than a bloke the size of a fucking forward with no skill.
Great, so you're saying all we have to do to unlock the mythical talent of Wakeham is sign the Fijian WC team...
