Probably an opinion that not many share, but I think Kikau has been pretty underwhelming at times this year... I'd be pretty reluctant to offer him a big deal and it could have T-Rex like results. In saying that though our backrow is pretty ordinary atm and could use a boost.
However I would be happy with
11. Young (trade for Adam Elliot)
12. Kikau (if on reasonable deal)
13. Jackson (reduced minutes to be replaced by Topine)

I'm sick of the club offering non playmakers mega bucks.
I don't think we are (this time at least, literally makes 0 sense). We're just linked to everyone.

Elliott gone. RFM medically retired. He recently underwent a bone graft for an injury (bone) which didn't heal. Not a good sign.

This would free up 1M

If we have the cap free and Barrett and Gould can't get Kikau no-one can.

Imagine a backrow of Kikau and TPJ. No decent halves available really. Pearce will be too old by 2023 when off contract. Surely we have to find a successful half out of BBO, Wakeham and Flanagan. I really think Cook will be successful at 9. Dufty is going to be as good a fullback as we can find. Doubt we'll be signing Paps. Doubt we'll be signing Cheese.
Let’s not worry about our most solid position hooker cause Marshall offers awesome service.
Let’s buy one million dollar forwards that play 40 minutes like Thompson
Poor cap management

Gould replied on Twitter that he believes your spine should all be in the top 8 player paid and 3 of them in the 4 highest.

kikau is a no go, and with TPJ now I don’t think we need him as a priority.

hetherington I thought looked good enough back row today.

Kikau hasn’t had the season compared to last year
I wouldn’t sign (feel it would be another Tony Williams signing)
Hopefully Pengai jr just carved up

There are other more importnt targets than Kikau. Let Roosters buy him because they are apparently not subject to any salary cap audit. For us to go better we need playmakers that can cause tempo shifts be it speeding up the game or slowing it down. At this juncture we really only Have Burton as a genuine spine member. Sure dufty will be decent but he has flaws & is on a 1 year deal for a reason, we have no nine and averillo is not a 6...he is a centre. Gus has to move on some players that were bad buys to balance up our roster in the offseason otherwise we will finish 9th to 12th in 2022

RFM is 28 there is no way he’s retiring for an injury like this. If it was a chronic injury in a joint like the shoulder or knee, recurrent concussions or a neck injury then i could see it more likely to happen.
