Biden? Yeah.

But Trump bombed more kids in his first 6 months than Obama did in 2 terms. Quite a ridiculous record, then tried to pretend he was the hero.
Jimmy Carter was the last US president with any kind of honourable record of foreign policy.

All of them after him were war mongers on poor people

One sometimes wonders, how on earth did Trump become president?
Trump became president not because he was a man with a vision, or he had great empathy and insight into the needs of the average citizen or was even a brilliant marketer, he became president by just being himself.
A corrupt, illiterate loudmouthed bigoted, and utterly loathsome, self-obsessed oafish man child; and it was these qualities that appealed most to the average American...
And tragically still does!

I think it's a combination of factors:

1) he wasn't Hilary Clinton. Other than people not wanting another Clinton, they also didn't want a woman

2) people were getting annoyed with politicians screwing them over. He didn't go through the full political system and he claimed that he wasn't one of the politically elite. Which made it even funnier when he did what every other President did before him

3) Nationalism. America is built on America being the best at everything. A candidate that claims he will make America the best, and holds strong anti-immigration policies, that's going to be a good option for Americans

4) online Disinformation campaigns run by Russian hackers and far right groups worked well. People actually believe shit they read online so when they're told that Hilary is an evil pedo, they believe it

It was the perfect storm. A time when America is struggling, the Internet is primed for misinformation, and the country hasn't reached a point where they fully respect women and minorities.

That's the kind of perfect setup for someone like Trump to come in. Fortunately he was just an idiot. If he was anything like other leaders that rose up in similar ways, it could have been a lot worse.

It was the perfect storm at the time but I think that in a way, after those 4 years, it's now normalised (we've gone deeper down the rabbit hole) and therefore Trump no longer needs a "perfect storm" to be elected, he can be elected from a "normal" platform, ie he's a viable candidate

It was the result of the complete bastardry and capitulation into lies of traditional politicians.

we have seen female heads of state and heads of government all over the world and Hillary Clinton won the popular vote... so, I think the "America's sexist" argument is simple deflection

It's a factor, but it's only a small factor. Trump used the "she's a woman" debate subtly in his campaign because he knew it would work. Most Americans see women as illogical.

It wasn't the deciding factor though. There was a large number of factors that resulted in Trump winning.

the issue of Ashley Biden's diary, it being supposedly stolen, it being reported by Veritas etc. is now the subject of litigation... what does it matter who retweeted it?
