thats the guy who got killed because he didn't take covid seriously enough, ie didn't get police to shut down businesses and he lifted the state of emergency

there should be a scientific study on world leaders who pushed back on covid and how much that increased their chances of dying

Just a little example of US hypocrisy - I bring you the story of Ben-Gvir - Israels most crazy town politician. His recent words were enough for me but little did I know his background. Damn...
Lives in illegal territory in Hebron.
His mentor is Rabbi Meir Kahani - founder of the Kach movement. Ben Gvir is a member.
Kahani was quoted many times death to all arabs. I quote, we want them to leave alive, but if they don't then death.
Arrested multiple times for inciting violence.
The Kach movement was so bad, listed by the US on the terror blacklist. That threat assessment was downgraded in 2022 because of inactivity to a Designated Terror Group.
Another Kach person was Baruch Goldstein, the guy responsible for the Caves of the Patriachs massacre in 1994.
His photo is on Ben-Gvirs wall and according to Ben-Gvir, he would tell his kids that this man is a hero and a patriot.
Rabin was closing in on a Palestine deal with Clinton. Ben Gvir was interviewed as a Kach member. Holding a little silver ornament. He was asked about it and said it was from Rabins car (which had been blown up in an attempt on his life a few months before). He said and I quote, if we can get to his car, when can get to him. When the president commits severe crimes (being the Oslo accords), we can commit severe actions. 3 weeks later Rabin was assassinated.
Ben-Gvir has been arrested multiple times for inciting violence. Gets away with it because of his political position.

So, what were Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran again? Terrorist agencies/countries led by religious fundamentalists. Ben Gvir is the Minister for National Security. And he is a current member of a prescribed US terror group.

Irony eh?

TACO now trying to compare his failed attempt on the Iranian bunkers to the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki ending WW2 in the Pacific. Dementia Donny strikes again!
:astonished:

"It's all fake news" "CNN is scum" "these networks are real losers"

WE WANT TRUMP WE WANT TRUMP

US Intelligence committee: Iran is not building a Nuclear weapon
Donald Trump : They are wrong!

US Intelligence committee: Strikes on Iran did not destroy nuclear sites
Donald Trump : They are wrong!

If you look through the history of New Israel it's pretty badly mixed. If you ignore how they started on the back of deception and a deliberate attempt to take over Palestinian land, there's some dark history there. On both sides. But there was some pretty bad members early on. There was a split among the founding members which resulted in moderate left leaders that wanted to work with the locals to form a joint land for both Israelis and Palestinians, and the far right leaders that wanted to kill the Palestinians and take over their lands.

The far right leaders were the ones that pushed the conflicts. They literally wanted to wipe out the locals because they didn't consider them human. We're talking about far right extremists that thought that Hitler had the right idea, they just thought that he targeted the wrong people.

Why am I pointing this out? Because Ben-Gvir is considered the most far-right extreme politican in Israel's history. Even worse than those founding members.

I didn't put all of it down and some of the interviews I watched were crazy. But when u get down to it, reckon you can always make an argument that fundamentalist leaders who militarily gain power, you take out the military apparatus and they have a reasonable possibility of returning to some universally agreed level of morality. But what do you do when a fair proportion of the population actually voted for a person like this?

Its why I think the overseas shit has if nothing else, made us look at our democracy a bit more seriously. Reckon people think about their vote a bit more than 20 years ago, for better or for worse.

There was a good doco not too long ago (Before October 7) that looked into the illegal West Bank Israeli settlements. Even at that stage there was violent incidents in the West Bank with heavily armed settlers attacking unarmed Palestinians. But every interview they did with the settlers was these settlers claiming that this land should belong to them as it's what God wants. And it shows adverts that Israel sends out to foreign Jewish communities that advertises the West Bank as a Jewish paradise, even to the point of marketing homes in areas that are entirely Palestinian with Palestinian houses there that are being demolished by the Israelis.

There was definitely support, but the people did turn against the government. Leading up to the Oct 7 attacks they were on the verge of civil war. Unfortunately it wasn't due to the illegal settlements, or the violence. It was because Netanyahu wanted to push through laws that would effectively allow him to overturn any Senate ruling and basically turn Israel into a light Dictatorship. Now Netanyahu has the highest approval rating he has ever had.

Trump during an interview: "The strikes on Iran completely obliterated the targets. There was nothing left. We wiped it all out. The media are lying to make it look like we wasted our time"

Interviewer: "Is that what the intelligence said?"

Trump: "... The intelligence was inconclusive"

Trump is clearly conflicted. He is caught between whether he wants to be a war time president or peace time president. Bibi on the other hand is all in.
