Somewhat, politically related. Tucker Carlson is doing a tour with a bunch of conspiracy theorists. At one of his rallies he brought Roseanne Barr on stage. She said to the crowd that there's actual vampires living in the US, drinking blood and eating babies.

Even Tucker was stunned by the comment. All he could respond was, "so it's not just cats and dogs"

But I laughed when she said "I'm not crazy" then talked about being in mental institutions lol

The plonker who runs Netflix has just publicly endorsed Kamala Harris, and, predictably, there has been a flood of Trump supporters cancelling their Netflix subscriptions. If he had endorsed Trump, there would have been a similar response (not the same people cancelling, obviously).

What is the message he is trying to convey here? "I'm a dynamic captain of industry and therefore much smarter than you rubes, if I'm voting for Harris then you should too". My response would be along the lines "I'm smart enough to avoid pissing off half of my customer base for no good reason. Perhaps I should be running Netflix instead of you?

Definitely a very stupid move. But I also think people are overselling how much it has affected Netflix. Even before he made the announcement, Netflix already had its highest rate of cancellations all because Netflix cut its lowest subscriber tier, forcing people to pay extra. After he made the announcement the exodus increased for a few days, but then went back to normal.

Similar thing happened when Netflix had that pedo movie on, except a lot more people left then. And most of them came back to Netflix shortly after.

Seperate to the whole political issue, I think all streaming services are struggling very badly right now. Cost of living increase, and too many streaming services. Plus we're not all locked inside any more so people can actually go out and enjoy themselves. Streaming services need to find a way to make their services more cost effective, or they'll all collapse.
