The television programme Sportscafe is calling it quits - but not because of the antics of one of its presenters.
Marc Ellis was convicted and fined earlier this year for possessing ecstasy.
But Sportscafe presenter Ric Salizzo says that did not have any bearing on their decision to hang up their boots.
He says it just feels like the right time and this year's problems have not influenced his decision.
He says Ellis got into trouble this year, but it was not for the first time.
Salizzo says he already has an application in for his next job, and reckons he would be comfortable as TVNZ's Chief Executive. He suggests Marc Ellis should spend some time in the complaints department.
Salizzo says he would be interested in Judy Bailey's job, but considers himself to be the second-worst news reader in the country - he is too polite to name the worst.
