A Chairman has every right to make a call and Mr Dib did that.
Dib is living in the past quoting results 3 years plus out of date, now is now.

Against the rumblings of many people. Ex player icons wanting a coach change, eruptions on the kennel.
Dib has cornered himself by backing Hasler and by doing it prematurely he has poured petrol on an already un-supportable fire.

We are boring, predictable and blunt in attack. We cannot hide that the players are not enthusiastic or passionate. We've been slipping since 2014.

IF we were winning - boring is forgiven. Warren Ryan's Bulldogs could be boring. We bashed and ground teams into the dirt. We bombed in goal until it was stupefying. But we won - and won - and won.

We are not winning and the last time we made the top 4 was 2012.
It is said Des likes stats. When was the last time a non-top 4 side won the comp?
There's a stat.

Mr Dib is rattling on about 'we make the top 8 under Des'. Wrong stat Mr Dib.
Wrong stats, wrong goal and wrong coach.

There is now a culture of non-accountability at the Bulldogs. That makes it worse to tolerate as a supporter.

No-one ever gets dropped. No matter how many games we lose, the same players play the same structures.
And the coach gets a two year extension.

Mr Dib - You made your call. The results are yours and yours alone.

**** won't fall on his sword.
Even if he did, I doubt you could find one long enough to penetrate to any of his organs ?

It is safe to suggest that we are set for several years of frustrations and disappointments.

It's going to take 5 years after Hasler leaves to rebuild, if we can find the right coach to do that,
We need a good CEO first.

It all starts at the top.

We should prepare mentally for average for at least another 7 years

100% with you Kenya.

Like you said dib (and castle for that matter) backed Hasler when he wasn't doing the job (and you are right about the top 4 stat too, can't believe they keep on parading Hasler as the most successful coach over the last 6 years with only 1 top 4 finish......)

They had the chance to replace him last year but got rid of probably the only person on the board without personal interests. They had the chance to give him 10-12 rounds to prove himself.

But instead they signed him on huge money after a 2-9 record (3-13 if you include the 9s and the trials). No other team would upgrade the coaches contract in any other code having won 3 games from the last 13. Yet it's exactly what we did.

We will not start to rebuild until Hasler, castle, Hasler and the board are completely replaced. Castle is gone but that's just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much shit that isn't even visible lurking below.

Really hope the football club members overthrow the board Coke elections next year.

Otherwise we will be a team with no onfield success, no profits (we made a net loss last year and blew the cap too...) and the shittest team to watch.

Heads should roll, and if dib wasn't a dipshit he should step down for the teams performances over the last 12 months or so (let alone the last 4 seasons)

What I posted in another thread - Dib annoys the fuck out of me.

First grade games for the Bulldogs:

Turvey - 272
Ray Dib - 0

When we won the 84 Premiership, Steve Mortimer was our captain and our illustrious chairman was the Trainer.

Who do you think understands the Bulldogs better - Turvey or the Water Boy?

There will be a tipping point. Greed dictates this will occur. At some point Dib will try and save his own arse and cut Hasler lose, yes it should have happened at the end of last year. What I see happening is Dib getting a scare at the next board meeting and us paying out Hasler's remaining contract. If things continue we may see this at the end of this year. Not quite sure how that works with a new contract but if what people have said is true in that Dib has flooded the voting support than he may come close but still get back in. This would be my best guess at this stage. I would prefer that Dib gets overthrown, Des gets the flick immediately and any players that support Des be shown the door also. I would rather a rebuild from a fresh start. Keep Montoya and Jackson and sack everyone else.

If he reckons we will make the eight under Hasler wait and see, can't see Dib being removed at the moment.

It's not just Dib, it's the whole board of directors. Don't let him be a scapegoat just cause he's the chairman, that just means he's a director with a cool sounding title. All director's have the same power, and it's their collective agreement that leads to every decision.

Hopefully the talk of a rival ticket isn't just talk.

Nice post and pretty much bang on.

Ironically the first year he was at the club and everyone acknowledged that we greatly over achieved that year.

Im not defending any of them, but I doubt this was just a Ray Dib decision. Sure he is defending it, but dont believe he alone re-signed Hasler.

Dib needs to be a chairman only and not a pseudo CEO - if he applied for that position and got it fair enough. He has contacts and passion for the Dogs - so he should stick to what he does best';connect corporate dollars to the Club and team's development. Des loves stats and so should we. But how you interpret the stats and your ability to follow your gut and act on what is actually happening - that is a massive blind spot for Des and it is not my opinion - the stats back me up all the way. Are we now on 25% win rate for 18 games in a row? That is a pattern in the stats and the kicker out of all this - Des blames the drop ball and not the reasons CONSISTENT drop ball happens. He has lost me because he is not sharing where he thinks the root causes are and for what ever reason he is doing that, I have lost confidence in him.

True
Knights have nothing
No money
No facilities
No third party options
Fucking nothing,
And they are improving better than we are and we have everything

Just think about that for a minute
