did everyone see the shaktar donetsk goal in the champions league

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJqF0g-lF44

so when shaktar kick the ball back to return the possession to the opposition who had the ball before the injury stoppage, their striker luiz adriano takes the ball before the keeper, rounds him and scores to make it 1-1

then on the retart the shaktar defenders refuse to allow the danish team to walk in a goal to restore the fair play

the danish team score an earned goal a minute or so later but shaktar eventually win 5-2

it infuriates me on every level, the striker who took the goal and acted like a punk after it, the defender who didnt allow the goal refund and the manager who thinks that the subsequent earnt goal equals fair play

the worst part is the intent, shaktar donetsk were trailing in a game they needed to win and so they were going to do anything it took to win

how did he cheat?
the established custom is that the team who had possession of the ball at the time of the injury will get the ball back when the game resumes

so everyone expected a de facto suspension of the game until the correct team received controllable possession and especially in this example as the shaktar team shaped up to honour that custom with the kick back

so he cheated the unwritten rules of the game and his behaviour was about as unsporting as you can get

(Reuters) – Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano has been banned for one match for unsporting behaviour during a Champions League match against Nordsjaelland last week, UEFA said on Tuesday.

Brazilian Luiz Adriano scored a goal as his team tried to play the ball back to the Danish side’s goalkeeper following an injury to a Nordsjaelland player.

"The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body today decided to suspend Luiz Adriano for one match," UEFA said in a statement on its website (www.uefa.com).

"Luiz Adriano had been charged with violation of the principles of conduct during last week’s UEFA Champions League Group E match against FC Nordsjaelland in Copenhagen."

Luiz Adriano, who went on to score a hat-trick in Shakhtar’s 5-2 victory over Nordsjaelland, will miss their final Group E match at home to Juventus next week.

Ukraine’s Shakhtar have already qualified for the Champions League knockout stages and will be joined by either Juventus or Chelsea, who host Nordsjaelland in their final group game.
