I know the forwards wanted to bash their ego's out but you cannot waste that many sets banging it up the middle, we got out of that in 2009.
Tonight was a waste of possession and what we did have have wasn't respected, you gotta test the edges and be more clinical.
Was the Mitch Brown try not an indication on the way to go?
Pass the fooken ball!

They tried. Ennis had to take control because Mbye is inexperienced and Chase isn't a half

Yelled myself hoarse screaming that very thing tonight.
One out all night, just got our forwards belted repeatedly by 3 players EVERY tackle. Why Des?

Even having them running up and supporting in pairs would keep their defenders honest, even if they have no intention to pass the ball. Seemed determined to run over the top of them, and they lapped it up!

We missed Reynolds because we didn't go sideways to create overlaps or a running game, it showed when our only thing was going forward or just putting kicks up in decent spots but not really contesting them

We were missing our halves.

Take the halves out of any NRL side and watch them struggle to win.

Roosters still managed to beat us last year without their half's, although did we miss reynolds that game?
But their halves maybe not Maloney most of the time are shitty or don't do much (Pearce lol)

Our kick returns have been a real weakness this year. Our back three have been getting rag dolled and driven back quite often.

Sometimes it looks like our back three don't want to take the ball back, jogging back and looking to pass the ball for no real reason; other times it just looks like they're not powerful enough.

Scoots from dummy half haven't helped much either.

It seems to put us on the back foot too often.

Mitch Brown's kick returns last night were great.

Perrett normally returns strongly.

Stanley does a good job.

Thompson runs hard but has a higher chance of being driven due to how easy the bigger guys can pick him up, but that is not his fault and he shouldn't be held accountable for that.

When our wingers scoot they need to be quick and have footwork plus they need to play the ball quickly to help, I miss Perretts dashes from dummy half (one of the best at it) since he got us ground and moving

It's not his fault that he is small, but there are no handy cap rules in the NRL for size, so its still a weakness. His effort is certainly there, but that only gets you so far.

I think everyone needs to chill. We had two debut halves playing... one his first real NRL game... we played well and were in it until the 65th minute. If you take the steering wheel out of a car you ain't going to get around very well.

I thought, from an 'experience' perspective, it was great... Moses/Klemmer getting some minutes will be very good for us in the future. This type of game will teach Klemmer how to keep a cool head as he matures.

Yep I think Klemmer had a moment there and took his frustration out the wrong way , he will learn from it. Moses played great being his 2nd Nrl game at top level.
Being a former winger -one thing that can play a huge role whether you contribute to attack is the amount of defence you do and last night we did plenty and the kicks on last from the rorters were all going to the wingers.
