@ASSASSIN bro I saw a Hilux Rugged X at the Toyota showroom today. FMD. That thing is sex on wheels. I will NEVER refer to a Hilux as a boy again :D

Yeah it's better than a "TRD" but still not as manly as a Tundra.

Late 60's to early 90's was the decent TRD era, falling away at the end with fwd shitboxes.
Good merch too.

Agree, just laugh at the TRD Hilux, nothing TRD about it.

Plenty of cheap 2nd hand V8s getting around. Low km and looks like great buys.

Porsche cayenne
BMW X5
Low km Holden ss and Calais

Is it time to get a V8?

Not if it's Euro, as you will be bent over and fisted, regularly, when they inevitably have sensor issues due to our climate.
Then there's regular maintenance that tends to require specialist mechanics to do the job, due to all of those sensors and the in house machines to clear the codes!

Stick to Holden or Ford. Parts are cheap and plentiful, plus available from here and the US.

Less restricted to squeeze every last HP you can out of them than Euros.

Simply, they are made for Australia where Euros aren't.

BUT

It all comes down to you, you want power or a badge? Do you want a beast for yourself or do you just want looks from people who have no idea about cars?

PS I wish Toyota would make a V8 that compares to Chev or Hemi.
