constant incompetence is conveniently masking confirmation bias - the ref is human and will only notice errors most important to him - Dogs errors and the appearance of errors is obviously far more important than the cows.
If it was constant incompetence, surely the nrlol would have acted . . . Oh wait

Anybody who thinks we should have won that game are kidding themselves. The Cowboys dominated in the 2nd half and are a class above our side. Their forwards especially destroyed us at the back end.
We were either going to get a hard fought, close loss or maybe even manage a 2-4 point win.

The ref didn't like that idea.

The linesman off side call when Burns was at least getting to the halfway line swung all momentum and we couldn’t stay with them from that point onwards

If there was something that was clear as day it was that grub slam from what's his name. Still can't believe nothing came of it.

That double movement was something else.

We were up 14 12 and they were awarded a double movement try not to mention constant piggyback 6 agains

Yep the double movement try was a no try - and the off the shoulder try was a try - wheels and roundabouts.

They ran for 500m more than us, completed more sets, nearly doubled our post contact meters and had 9 line breaks to 1. And the 6 again count was 3 to 1 against - not like we got flogged with it or anything. And you're complaining?

Fck me.

I didn't see much in it to be honest, although the first Dearden try I'd have liked to have seen slowed down.

Either way, Cowboys are second on the ladder for good reason. Our bench fails to hold up to the intensity of our starting forwards, and that hurt us today.

Still a decent performance made to look worse on the scoreboard.

Those stats are most definitely wrong.

We got at least 1 ruck infringement set restart and 1 offisde set restart in the second half alone.

That said I don't think we had one player over 100m today.

Cowboys have speed to burn in all areas- including the forwards. They also have some monster forwards to dominate the ruck, and put pressure on smaller defenders.

The combination of possession in our half (we had to play out of our half all second half), repeat sets, and penalties to get them downfield, with their smart halves and big forwards, meant that they would always wear us down.

Plus, the con of having to give away our home game took away any advantage we might have had.

Cowbs were the better side and dominated almost every major stat. Having said that, we didn’t really get a fair crack in the ruck and that us often the case with underdog teams.

To sum up...

The ref didn't make us lose, just helped.

We were toe to toe for the majority of the match, well up to the "incompetence" of the offside penalty and double movement try.

Heads went down and so did any chance we had.

PS whoever moved our home game to Bundy is a dumb ****.

We got some really rough calls, but the ref didn't force us to make all those errors that cost us the game.
Feel like everyone’s aware it wasn’t entirely due to the ref but 14-12 V 20-14 in the 63 minute is huge. Not to mention some some of the other shockers. We had errors in our game which put us under the pump in the first half and fitness will reside as an issue until season end hense the drop of late second half. Errors have been an issue all season long but bar a few games. We matched very well with a second placed side with a shot at a premiership, we’re a top 8 quality side now and with improved fitness, altered lineup and a good coaching set up we can be a threat next year. We loss but im certain we loose by 50 if Barret was around and get the spoon the improvements undeniable.

Some pretty bad calls all game, we were on the end of most of them but the cows had a fair try taken off them so can't be too upset.

We did it too ourselves with poor discipline, simple as that
