Thanks mate @Psycho Doggie . Medication wise I'm on Lithium and Seroquel. Funny thing is I served in the Army for 12 years and wasn't till I got PTSD from service that later on the BP came.

Managing meds, sleep, exercise and lowering sress helps. Did a course on PTSD. Mindfulness is okay but not really into it. Trying to get into art therapy too. If I were to not take my Lithium properly I would end up manic psychosis in hospital. This happened to me last Nov. I always worry about the next time as does my wife. I guess I go through patches. I did go 5 years without an episode which was I guess good management.

Taken me months to be able to get back into the "updated" site - kept telling me I did not have administration rights every time I tried to log in.
OK so there is another reason I haven't been here as well - I am currently locked in a dance off with the Ole Spanish Dancer (Cancer)
Now although "they" (medical experts) have passed the death sentence on me the fools forgot to SET an Execution date so don't expect me to go away anytime soon - that's my diagnosis and I'm sticking with it.
What I really wanted to come on here and say was.......................... KICK the fekking Broncos into the cellar will you?
Great game last night and like Goose Gould I reckon you blokes do not deserve to be where you are - you DESERVE to be around 12 - 14 imo.
Like Psycho said - look after yourselves and DON'T be afraid to ask or look for help if you need it.
Keep laughing people because IF you lose the ability to laugh then you have lost absolutely everything. Which doesn't mean you can't have an off day, have a good cry, rant, rave or meltdown if that is the sort of person you are - BUT - KEEP LAUGHING.
Life is 4 L's - LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE and LEARN.
Love you guys, you have been good for me over the time I have been hanging around here.
Wonderfully put!

I feel sorry for the Spanish dancer as they are going to get their arse kicked by you.

Will be praying for you my brother. Keep up the fight and let us know how you're going and if you need anything.

God bless you

I like to have a bit of fun but this thread is not for that.

Proud of all that can express they are doing it a bit tough. Hope you have the strength to push forward.

Try out a bit of perspective in your life though, everyone has the worst problem so they think but we are in a great country where plenty of people around the world that would gladly trade their position for yours.

Yeah I'd like to add my admiration for those on here who are openly discussing a whole range of mental health issues. Everyone is at a different stage of their journey...only just realising something is not right, sought help and on meds and managing and some in denial or fine.

Thank you for your service and thanks to others for letting us in on their struggles and concerns.

No one wants TK to become a place where heated discussion can not flourish... but it's good to get reminders from this thread, and our posters living with real mental health issues, that going over the top with taunting and belittling of members can have serious damage if you are in a bad place that day.

Its good to recognise that words hurt and relentless and constant harrassing and internet bullying can add to, and reinforce, that low point you are experiencing in your life.

Let that be our main focus whether you agree or excuse, rile against or understand our current club situation and/or faith in the current Board. We all are entitled to our opinion and it counts to us and should be respected by others (however wrong ;)

We have a bond here together as CB Bulldogs supporters and together we hold each other up through thick and thin.

The wife and I found a really good isolation program we run every fortnight or so.

We grab a phone, a Boom Speaker 3, open Spotify and several bottles of plonk. We then pick a period or genre of songs and then all selections have to come from that. The drunker we get the more obscure the songs become, it's hilarious. We sing, we drunk dance, the dog heads out back or scratches to get into our sons room about 10ish before things get too wild. By midnight we're swaying to Back Street Boys. We'll head to bed with all intentions of having a root, she'll fart, we both laugh, all over.

Try it.

Anyone else got the dreaded PTSD-Bipolar combo. Can be really difficult to manage at times.
I'm PTSD only, met a few in Belmont private hospital up here in Brisbane who have the combo, one girl found out she was bipolar when in for treatment of complex PTSD, she was pretty taken back by it at first, but as she realized diagnosis leads to help, which leads to improvement, she improved rather quickly due to good support, treatment and management.

PTSD is pretty screwed up - so much time trying to avoid flashbacks, thoughts and visions, you end up filling your time with anything just to try and distract yourself.

SoH had the idea to create this thread so I did for him. Earlier today we learnt there are many of us battling demons and I think it's easier talking here than to family and friends.

I'll kick it off, I'm diagnosed with clinical depression, sever anxiety and serve stress. I had it for years now but losing my dad and my heart condition spiralled me deeper into my version of hell.

I'm willing to help anyone any little way I can.

So, are you ok?

Brought to you by you friendly neighbourhood Assassin and South of Heaven.
Been through that myself, back when help wasn't readily available, and it was sign of weakness to admit it. Stared at the final solution a number of times, but I was lucky to have an understanding wife.

Getting out of the worry of a 60 hour per week, stressed out job helped.
Doing something I have a passion for was a life changer - my Psoriasis also cleared up.

My daughter was in the same space. Luckily she had a family to give her all the support she needed, and an understanding boss who referred her to a great medical professional. The side effect of the drugs was sometimes worse than the depression; so he put her onto a diet which dealt with the chemicals to the brain, without the side effects. In her case, it meant avoiding wheat based and dairy based products; also things like garlic and onions.
Seems to be doing the trick, though she still has the odd dark day - so would I, if I couldn't eat ice cream.

Everyone is different, so best to see a qualified doctor before experimenting with diets.

How do you deal with it all Assassin? I know the pain of losing a loved one, Ive lost my three most important adult figures (Father, Mother, Aunty) in the last 18 months.
There's no answer to that question, col. Keep them in your heart. Doing something you find interesting can help, as does helping others.
Dumb as it sounds, it takes time to adjust to your new normal. Just ask yourself, what would they tell you to do.

One thing I've found that helps is doing what they would like, and also do something to carry on their legacy, something that they would do that you usually wouldn't do.

Personally, I'm a person of strong faith (and I know @ASSASSIN is too) and that's what helps me through the hard times I've been through. I don't know where I'd be without that.

If your faith helps you, that is good. I'm not a believer, but if people say faith helps; I'm not going to argue.

Prolly got PTSD too, I will never be the same again.
Anti depressants do work, for years I struggled and said I don't want the side effects but there wasn't any.

Did you get hooked on them though? That could be a problem. I went through a phase of depression once, and this combined with my OCD didn't help, but I found the best way to get through it all is just to clear your mind. Going for a nature walk or some place where it's nice and quiet to get away from it all really does help. You don't have to venture too far to experience this either. We live in a great, wide land, and it's not too far from the city to the coast to the forest - make the most of it.
