Couldn't agree more with you.I did watch it. I actually thought there were some positives In a game that ultimately has left me on a huge downer.
I think the things that are getting me down on footy now are twofold.
Firstly that a collision between the expectations I tried to keep low and the hope that we'd start the year displaying improvement in the class of football we delivered has happened. I really wanted us to be flying high at this early stage. We aren't, and despite me seeing some better signs in our willingness to attack this week, I just don't see us being on the pace or as resilient as we were last year.
Secondly, I don't even want to read anything related to footy here. I'm guessing that others had higher expectations than I did and are quick to anger that they've not been met. I don't want to bear the brunt of trying to make positive posts that get jumped on by a lot of people who think us fans should just pike on the criticism.
So I'm standing clear of reading game analysis threads and trying to stick with lighthearted areas of the forum.
I'm not bothering watching our games at the moment.
Same shit, different year, and it's obvious nothing is going to change.
Captain Obvious can see the problems in our side / at our club, yet those who can do anything are instead complacent to watch it go on and not act.
Even our "wins" this year were far from convincing.
We were promised and all expected Panthers and Storm like performances, and instead have got wooden spoon Parra and Knights ones.
Heck even Parra performed better than us in a game this year. Tigers are flying too.
Fans are expected to just "put up" with the performances, and it's just not good enough.
I don't bother watching because I don't want to be disheartened or depressed, and I know I will.
If only the club saw the disappointment from the fans perspective, only then might they change things.
