Thing is I've got an inheritance recently. In about 6 months I'll be living a long held dream of driving round Australia that's been in my to do list for about 25 years. So I see some great times ahead. Just have this shitty moral dilemma right now

its tough saying good bye to a loved dog,
Thoughts are with you mate,

Get another dog soon as possible.
You never can replace a pet, but the house will feel soleless without another dog.

Definitely one of the hardest things to do in life. They are not here long enough, but in the time they are here they love enough for numerous lifetimes. May your little girl rest in peace. Hope you are ok.

Yeah, i know exactly how you feel, had a very similar experience. All I can say is, your love for her will never fade, but the shock and sadness will ease over time,

Mate my heart goes out to you.

2 years in December I had to put down our (near) 14 yr old Labador in similar circumstances. It broke me, and she was my best mate and first ever dog with my wife.

Same thing as Audrey, one day she was fine. Next day she was having difficulty standing on front legs. Day after that she was unable to stand at all, we raced her to the vet and there was nothing they could do. They suspect she had a stroke and lost use of her legs :(

We spent 6 months with just 1 dog as he mourned her loss, before we adopted again.

So I feel for you. RIP Audrey, she looks like a real sweetheart. Thoughts are with you during this tragic time.

Stay strong brother.

I'm sure it will be a beautiful send off for dad.
Mate we found the most amazing celebrant, and he was absolutely superb.

Beautiful service that was livestreamed from the venue across the world. Had 30 people watching from various countries and 102 in the venue.

Couldn't fault anyone from the funeral staff to the venue, to even the wake. Everything was as Dad would have wanted.

I cracked a few times during the service, including during my speech, and during a poem I wrote him.

All in all though a fitting send off for an amazing person who will very much be missed by many.

Pretty much identical situation. She was mine and my Mrs first dog together. On saturday she woke up with a limp and this morning she had no feeling in her front left leg.

Im trying so hard to remember what she was like before the injury but all I can see is how distressed and scared she was today.

Dogs have a way of attaching themselves directly to our souls in the biggest way. I'm so sorry you lost your gorgeous pooch. But she looks like she was a spoilt rotten girl. The look she was giving in the picture above screams "I fucking love you". All we can do for them is give them the best life we can. Those lives aren't long enough but they fill us with love and saying goodbye really can tear us apart.
