The Dragons' cleanout is set to continue, with star backs Matt Dufty and Euan Aitken both told they are free to find new clubs for next season.
Flying fullback Dufty signed a new two-year deal in February of this year but the club is having second thoughts about his value.
He has played 16 games this season but scored just five tries.

Similarly, Aitken has also bagged only five tries from 21 games.

The club has already made changes to its coaching staff for 2020 following this season's disastrous campaign, with assistants Ben Hornby and Dean Young set to be moved on.

BRONCOS BRACE FOR FIFITA EXIT
He's the hottest young forward in the game and under contract until the end of next season - but the Broncos are already resigned to losing giant David Fifita.
The Warriors are set to give Fifita the chance to become rugby league's next million-dollar man.
Clubs can begin negotiating with Fifita in November and the word I'm getting from Auckland is that the Warriors are prepared to pay him a seven-figure sum to cross the ditch.
At least half a dozen clubs will be chasing the 19-year-old Queensland State of Origin forward, with the Warriors leading the way.
The Broncos have had to upgrade the likes of Matt Lodge, Tevita Pangai Jr and Jake Turpin and simply won't have the money to keep Fifita.

BROWN SAFE AT KNIGHTS, FOR NOW
The Knights' finals hopes may be on life support after a great start to this season, but Nathan Brown's job is still safe for next year.
Brown is on a year-to-year contract with the Knights and under intense pressure to perform with a talented roster.
Word from inside the Knights camp is that Brown is safe, despite the recent run of outs that finally ended with the big win over the Cowboys last Saturday.
But, like Dragons coach Paul McGregor, he will need to win a lot of early season games next year to keep the wolves at bay.

NEW KING AT STRUGGLING TIGERS?
The 2020 kickoff is still seven months away, but the Tigers already have a massive problem to contend with.
Robbie Farah's retirement and Jacob Liddle's serious knee injury last weekend has left the Tigers without a recognised hooker for the start of the season.
Wide World of Sports has reported that Warriors hooker Issac Luke has put his hand up to join the club and now another contender has emerged.

They are both gun forwards. Haas is a middle, Fifita plays on the edge.

Payne Haas is ahead in terms of development & I’d be more inclined to throw 1 mil at him over Fifita.

Hass is still only 19 and by far the most dominant and destructive forward in the game.
Makes Klemmer look shit... hass has speed, plays massive minutes, footwork and a great offloading ability and what makes him likeable is that he doesn’t have a massive ego and comes across as a very humble person.

Fifita is becoming a SBW clone.. he is worth whatever teams want to throw at him because he is that good.

Yeh that’s the one we need :p wonder if we would even consider him.

He re-signed with the Broncos on very little compared to what he could have commanded and said it was about loyalty and staying with his mates.

HANDS OFF: Broncos will table major, multi-year, deal to David Fifita in the next week - determined to ensure he doesn't go on open market on Nov 1

Warriors, Eels, Dogs ready to pitch 700k+ a year

BUT Brisbane confident he'll stay and sign before Nov 1

FIRST on @7NewsBrisbane

Sooner or later something will have to give up there. Watch them retire Boyd and the NRL let them get away with a Souths/GI type rort with little of Boyds salary counting on the cap.

Who was the player we knocked out in their first or second game. There was a wank fest all game for him and he only lasted a few mins.

Was it Hass or Fifita?

Would be good to have some damaging forwards. Like ideally tuamalolo would be great but he is locked up long term. But if we can pinch a young gun you will only be better for the long term.

Isn’t pangai really good too? Broncos would be spewing having so much talent and having a dud coach. These kids would have flourished under Bennett.

As I said in the other thread.. They throw big money at re-signing Lodge, Haas, Ofahengue, TPJ, Oates and now Fifita.

Not to mention other upgrades to Turpin, Dearden, Coates, Carrigan etc.

They have Milford on $1 million a season plus Boyd, Gillett, McCullough and others on big money and they still have infinite room to throw another million at Fifita.

And no one says or does anything about it. It's the most corrupt sport in the world. The NRL makes Mexican Dog Fighting look more legitimate.

Oh fuck that's right. Didn't they overpay massively for him for like 700k a year?

But I guess they dont have to worry about overpaying when they have no cap.
