Seems as tho its a dislocation so not 'as bad' as first thought.

Feel for the guy and seeing the reaction of Klopp and the team it's clear he's much loved. Will be back this year it seems so that's good

Elliott aside, that was some performance for the boys. Not an easy place to go to but did really well. Proper pleased with that

Seem to remember an esteemed member of the Kennel talking down Thiago as being shit?

Cracking game from him and really continuing on his fine form from last year. Just sublime to watch. An absolute joy.

Mane. You know. Missed a few today but got his goal, so credit to him.

Back to his devastating best? No, but much better than last year. Hope he continues on this path!

a few of our more recent signings haven’t fulfilled their potential in their time with us for various reasons…he’s always been class and is he comes good for us will be a joy to watch.
Now or never also for players like Naby, Minamino and Ox, and to a lesser degree Jones , who hopefully will kick on this year.
We do seem light up front though…. Shaping up to be a very interesting and well contested season, expecting lots of ups and downs for all the top teams.

Elliott has been sent home with surgery expected in the following days. Best case scenario seems like a Gomes type injury but I guess it all depends on what's going on the with the ligaments.

Let’s hope the kid makes a full recovery .
Heres another game where an opposing player injures one of ours who will miss out the remainder of the season ( VVD last season)
We lose the player for the whole season and the opposing player may miss a couple of games suspended.

Gomes returned within 4 months so it's possible he might be back for the backend of the year, either way we defenitely need to bring in an attacker during January.

Really unfortunate injury for the young lad, hope he has a speedy recovery. But that isnt a red card, it will most likely be appealed and rescinded.

You never want to see someone come off the pitch with such a serious injury, hopefully due to his age he is able to have a full recovery.

Any challenge from behind is a dangerous tackle. Its very difficult to execute a perfect tackle from behind especially when you're chasing the attacker at full speed.
If that red card gets overturned it will be open season to clean players up from behind.
Whist not intentional it was a very reckless tackle

No chance. Glad the guy showed remorse and all of that but no chance that gets rescinded.

Scissor tackles from behind have been 'outlawed' for some time. He came late also. No malice but doesn't matter.

The ref didnt even blow a foul at first. Whilst I agree its potentially dangerous, most tackles are. At United we've even witnessed Shaw and Valencia over the years have their legs snapped in half by the force of a tackle, both without any cards shown. Elliot was unlucky that his foot was planted and thats what caused the injury.

Son last season had a far worse tackle when Spurs played Everton, snapping Andre Gomes' ankle, and whilst the ref sent him off on the night, the red card was overturned on appeal, it was deemed dangerous but not malicious.
