Soccer The Gunners Super Thread

Couldn't agree more Book. I couldn't wait for the season to start. Now, I am dreading it. And we are a weaker side. Ffs, we let Clichy go, and don't even replace him? Wenger should be gone but it appears the board is complicit in his penny pinching ways.

I never watched the Community Shield but apparently some people think that selling Clichy for 7mil was a great piece of business by Wenger. Did Clichy play that badly?

Not sure. But Man C need to give him time to gel. All I know about the community shield is that Man U cam from behind, played to the final whistle and won. I have a Man U obsessed son who gloated all morning about how it is done by Man U.

The scoreline did not reflect the result. Man United bossed citeh throughout the whole match.

I would liken it to the 7-1 belting we gave Roma, only much better one touch passing. Clichy was at fault for the final goal & that is probably the only involvement I saw from him.

Sky Sports News say Southampton's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain having medical with Arsenal.

will pay 12mil for a 17 year old, but wont pay 20+ for mata

lol.

5mil plus 5mil add-ons for the 'Ox-Factor'. Hopefully Joel Campbell to follow for 1mil. Both would put us in a good position for Carling/FA Cup fixtures so that we could rest the likes of Walcott and RVP.

As for first team signings, it looks like Wenger is back on track to make an offer for Cahill (dunno why he ever ventured off for the likes of Jagielka and Dann) and is expected to make a bid for him in the coming days.

I like Scott Dann. I think Wenger knows we need to bring in another defender, so hopefully he can get it done this week.

I'm reasonably happy with the Chamberlain signing, as long as it's followed up by first team signings.

Well we might be looking at alot of transfer activity in the next few weeks.

Nasri looks like he will be sold to City for 25mil

Fabregas... Nuff said

Cahill has been rumoured to be joining by Thursday.

Nasri leaving could restart negotiations with Valencia for Mata.

Also Bendtner and Eboue look close to exits.

Think that's a possibility given that we haven't, and dont look like, signing a LB. Perhaps Wenger is seriously considering Vermaelen as cover for Traore/Gibbs. Don't see how he couldn't have bought Enrique for 5.5mil though...

Can someone tell Wenger that a big name signing doesnt mean the amount of letters in their name!!!! This season is already gone and we havent even started, the guy has lost the plot!!

Hold tight fellow Gunners. Big few weeks coming up.

city buying more midfielders lollll, dey need dem wingers will never learn.

Nasri is a retard. Reckons he's a winner but went nowhere for the 2nd half of last season.

Honestly don't care what he does at City.

Nasri's 25mil will go straight on a bid for Mata

It will be sad to see Fabregas leave, but to be honest, im really getting fed up with this saga and if selling him will end it all, then Barca stop being so tight and buy the **** already...

This is where Wenger's stubborness has it's advantages. Any other manager would've given in and sold him for less then our asking price. If were going to sell him then we may aswell hold Barcelona up by their ankles and shake them down to their last dollar :p
