I have a friend who moves trains to wherever you want, and can even skyhook them into your backyard if you want. An old carriage is often cheaper than adding a room to your house (depending on access), and can be moved with you when you change address.

Pickfords in the UK had special semi trailer, equipped with steering at the rear of the trailer to help with tight corners, for heavy locomotives.
Here it is hauling an X Class loco about to shipped to Western Australia.
