Speaking of facepalms
@chemdog did you know that the facepalm we use often is actually Cain, from the Cain and Abel characters in the Bible. He holds his hand to his head in shame that he has committed the murder of his brother Abel. Its official name is,
Caïn venant de tuer son frère Abel (ie. Cain having just killed his brother Abel) It was sculpted by French artist Henri Vidal in 1896. It stands in the Tuileries Garden in Paris.
