Another fun medical fact. There is a disorder that is fairly common where women of certain blood types get pregnant to men of certain blood types. The baby will usually be fine but the woman's body reads it as a disease and develops an immune response. This means if the woman gets pregnant again by the same blood type the woman's immune system would attack the baby leading to miscarriage. This has killed thousands of babies each year until around 55 years ago when they found a rare anti-body in a single Australian blood donor which lead to the development of Anti-D.
