Decent business for them. He's fallen from grace Countino but still a class player imo.
Very tidy player but never consistent enough for me. There was a Europa league game between United and Liverpool when he completely tore us to shreds, I remember him leaving a few players on the floor.

However, I can see this going the same way it did for James Rodriguez at Everton. Players like that need the ball to show their quality and at mid table sides you just don’t get that opportunity

Option to extend?

Think he'll flourish there under Gerrard. Whole team will be centred around him which is what he needs. He'll do really well.
heard there's an option to buy after the loan deal ends

His career has gone backward since he left, same with Gini . Flopped at Barca and Bayern .
Im not too sure he will be as dominant in the PL playing for Villa as he was when he was playing for us.
Fuck him anyways,he got his manager and his NT coach to push his transfer to Barcelona citing many reasons including his dismay at not playing a more central role at Liverpool.
Getting rid of him was a blessing, we rorted the catalans and with that money brought in players that won his 4 major trophies.

Completely agree mate on all levels.

People seem to forget how he went about leaving. Getting his family to feed newspapers 'exclusives' talking down Klopp. Feigning an injury. Refusing to play. All 6 months after signing a new contract from memory.

Fuck him.

He'll never be at the level he was when playing for us, but I still think he'll do decent there. 6 months really isn't a very long time, and it does make me laugh how far Countino has fallen considering he apparently hated life in England and wanted to go win trophies.

kinda glad arsenal didn't sign him on loan, would of been a waste of money
I think Arsenal have a good structure now ... hopefully for you guys ... and you don't buy more pensioners looking for a pay check. Good young guys coming through and need to stick with that imo.

Don't know enough of either to say tbh but have read a lot about that Vlahovic and people saying he's the real business.

Coutinho is a really talented footballer and you could see that when he first signed as a young player for Inter... but to be effective, the team's attack has to go through him and so, he was effective for an ascendant LFC where he was the main man but considerably less so in a Barca team with Messi and Brazil with Neymar

and the exorbitant wages he gets from Barcelona should scare any team off

Talented or not he hardly set the world on fire at Inter, Barca and Bayern. He has struggled at all the 3 teams .Inter loaned him out to Espanyol, he returned and still couldn’t crack a starting spot . Went to Barca and and struggled, loaned out to Bayern withabuy out option and the only thing the Sherman’s didn’t do when they returned him is gift wrap him.
Coutinho excelled at Liverpool but who hasn’t improved playing for Liverpool Klopp coached team?
Even Henderson looks better than what he is in this dominant /aggressive style of football that Liverpool play.
Coutinho should be grateful what Liverpool gave him, without them he would have far less caps for Brazil .
And we are grateful for the millions he gave us which in turn brought in VVD , Alisson and a couple of nice trophies.

Coutinho was a teenager when he signed for a dominant Inter side managed by Jose Mourinho (who never backs young players) and was centred around Sneijder in the midfield... I think the Liverpool Coutinho is the real Coutinho BUT he has to be the centrepiece to get the best out of him

and when Barcelona come in and offer £140+ million, you cash in

Coutinho seems to be a player who needs the team structured around him. Worked at Liverpool but aften that?

Was the best thing to happen to Liverpool when he left.

LFC has done great business for years and have Klopp as manager... I do wonder though whether that success is maintainable when Klopp leaves and the club is less discerning in the transfer market
