Gotta bet big to win big, most times hotel owners buy pokies because they know nine outta ten times you will be ripped off.
That's what I can't work out.. everyone knows that stat yet they complain when they lose money? You play for a lucky punch type of win, or to relax, not to always walk away ahead. It's Like buying a lottery ticket, you dont whinge when Your ticket doest come out.

Imbeciles expect to walk out with $100k every time they play. You might win but it's unlikely.

In saying that I heard of a lady who walked Into a club and won $112k.. she leaves and comes back a few weeks later. On the exact same machine she wins another $120k. Incredible luck. But that's all it is..

Just remember they weren't made to be charity, they are made to make money and that's what they do.

People just say they put it through the pokies to throw the scent off their stash of cash.

It's just their way of saying I don't have the money anymore. Then you see em pull up in a new merc.
Plus Still the easiest way to launder money.

It seems to me that internet football, or specifically TK, forums are your pokies, you're addicted

I remember when I turned 18, I went to the star with my mates and dropped $100 into a machine, played it down to $20 without jagging a single win (25 cent spins)...

Got extremely shitty and bumped the spins to max (which was 5.50 per spin) just to get it over with.... 4 features later (20 free spins each) and I walked away with just over 3 grand.... Took it all and ran (after shouting the boys some rounds of course).

6 months later went back, found same machine and dropped $100 into it on max bet, lost it all.

I'm definitely not what you'd consider a gambler but I can see how these things ruin lives.. The feeling from that win was insane (didn't help I had a crowd of people watching and cheering my machine on)

Difference being it looked like you were only willing to lose $100. That's sensible. Win or lose.

It's the Muppets who drop another $100-$200-$300 in to chase their first $100..

As I say the pokies are parked inside a pub or casino, not on one's doorstep.

Yeah the idea of a big win. Funny thinking now how stupid you can be just going to the atm pulling another $200 out and playing $4 or $3 hits and FMS a free game might win $700 but then the greed sets in and gonna turn that into $1k......burn through it, walk away with empty pockets.

I know I was a fckn fool and only blame me. But pisses me of deluxe to see the bus turn up with the old ladies on a Thurs and probably do their pension.

And ASSAIN is 100% spot on man it's just an nice way to wash the dirty dollars.

That's exactly how it works.

Years ago in Vegas (Las, not Bris), I put $20 into the first machine i saw. It was a John Wayne themed one (obviously his family doesn't care about his legacy), and ended up with something like 500 free spins. It felt awesome sitting there for like an hour watching it spin away as i drank my free (well $1 tip) beers as a crowd built up around me in amazement. "ONLY" pulled out something like $500 but it felt like winning lotto.

i then spent the next 3 days spending that $500 in other casinos, and drove out of town even stevens thankfully.

My other good luck came in Macau years later, where I ended up about $1000HK in front, but man it is so easy to see how addictive they can be.

It can be, but I don't know if its the smartest way to do it TBH, unless the venue owner is in on it with you.

Hey.

Look I'm no wowser and don't wanna preach but having been an addict, lucky to have my kids still talk to me.

I'm just chucking it out there....pokies are designed and made man to be addictive. So not like everyone admits it or goes hunting help.

Here were my signs and just have a squiz if you have these cause jump on the problem man before its gets way out of control

* Staying at the club or pub for heaps and chucking notes in.
* Spending heaps more than you thought.....regularly
* Lying to everyone where you're going. Like cause that's a shame thing I reckon.
* Feeling shit that you've done your $$$ on those bastard machines.
* Feeling low maybe depressed.
* Winning say 500 and putting it all back in
* Does int maybe interrupt you work life or family life ?
* Borrowing $$ to gamble then not being able to pay your bills.

These are some of the things I went through and man I'll always be an addict but if you're like me, man you gotta take each day as it comes but with each day the urge gets less and great to drive by the club and think how much they didn't get from me today.

Pokies are called the "crack" of gambling.

I dont wanna ban them, just limit the bet size maybe $2 a spin.

These things cause a heap of pain and misery man in society. They have been a issue with folk in RL as well.

Look at these Taj mahal bloody clubs, I'll bet most built on the pokie $$.

So watch out for yourself and your mates.

I know its a downer but I like to make sure people know how bad these things CAN be to SOME.

Cheers
Hey mate stay away from
Pokies ,I suggest do an exclusion at all clubs from gaming and see a counseller been there myself.
And the longer u can stay away the better, keep away from triggers people that make u angry.
Truth is money is hard to come by and easy to throw.

I did a week in Vegas a few years back. Left even Stevens. But that's pretty damn good considering the fun I had for $0.
