Dizzy, you cant be serious, his form has been very average since the last Ashes.

It is a nice team though, i replace Dizzy With Stuart Clark

That's the only reason why i would bring him back in for the pace attack first 2 tests or so would be nice.

Good form with the bat following his 201 in bangladesh so i don't think he should be just dropped straight away.

I wouldn't drop Langer, he is in awesome form. If i was to drop an opener it would be Hayden, but i wouldn't drop him either. But i do think Jaques needs to be in the team.
I just don't think we need an allrounder. If Flintoff didn't exist, Australia wouldn't be looking for an allrounder. Lee has been hitting them sweetly and is awesome in a crisis.
Flintoff, along with Kallis, Razzaq, Afridi, Bravo etc.

I don't think we need to bring in an Allrounder just because England has one. We shouldn't bring in Watson, he's not up to scratch. Symonds is the only "allrounder" we should consider, and he has shown in tests that he's useless, so for mine we either go in with an extra batsman or an extra bowler, with Gilchrist a 6.

Going out of our way to use an allrounder is stupid, but if we take one in, it should be Symonds imo.

Hell, Gillespie got 201 if they pick 4 quicks, plus Warne, we could almost take in Gillespie just on the back of his ability with the bat. Even Andy Bichel is another that wouldn't be out of place that can bat. Neither of them will probably come into consideration however.

Jaques will only come in if one of the openers get injured. Both their records are awesome and it'll probably be Langers last series, so let them be.

My team would be:

Hayden
Langer
Ponting
Martyn
Hussey
Jaques
Gilchrist
Lee
Warne
Mcgrath
Johnson or Clark (Not sure if Johnson deserves it yet, one good games doesn't make a baggygreen)
Johnson wouldn't be out of place at all, but whether he warrants selection is another thing.

Hayden
Langer
Ponting
Martyn
Hussey
Clarke/Symonds
Gilchrist
Lee
Warne
Johnson/Clark
McGrath

I am starting to think though, that Watson is starting to come good. He has had big raps on him for about 3 or 4 years now and has done bugger all, but recently (in India) he has been bowling and batting pretty well. He has impressed me. (And i hate saying that)
I still wouldn't play him in place of a specialist batsman when we play 3 quicks and a spinner, but in Sydney and adelaide, if we play McGill (and i think we should, the poms hate leg spin) then i think the selectors should turn to Watson as an allrounder in place of who ever gets the 6th batting spot.

Bond latest Black Cap doubt
Oct 31, 2006

Pace bowler Shane Bond is the latest doubt ahead of tomorrow's Champion's Trophy semi-final against Australia in Mohali.

Bond's hamstring is still playing up after he felt a twinge in the win over Pakistan.

New Zealand manager Lindsay Crocker says he is struggling and therefore doubtful.

In an effort to gain fitness the bowler has been doing plenty of pool work, as well as batting and fielding. He avoided bowling in practice however.

Bond's possible omission is standard fare for new-ball partner Kyle Mills who has already taken on a greater role in the tournament as a result of Bond's woes.

He lead the way against Sri Lanka with a three wicket opening spell.

Mills acknowledged that when Bond goes down he feels like he has the responsibility to lead the attack.

His six wickets at the tournament have come at an average of 13. Mills is another worry though he is likely to overcome a tender groin and knee.

Bond is considered to be a better prospect than senior batsman Scott Styris who is extremely doubtful due to a buttock strain.

what a suprise

lol, it is amazing the amount of games they win with bond in the team. how can they possibly be calling for his retirement over there.
