The Consolidated WWE Superthread

Come on, dude. If I didn't know better, I would assume from your comment that you believe it is real? Nobody attacked Jade - it was a story line to cover Jade needing a few weeks off to rehab a real injury.

Thank you captain obvious....................

Dude... we know that. We're just talking about it.

SmackDown was rather anti-climatic given was transpired at Elimination Chamber.

Promotional poster for Raw in Brussels. I can't tell if this is legit though.

First day of Wrestlemania was pretty lame in my opinion. Atmosphere seemed low for the most of it. Outside of the main event, most matches seemed very stale even with the hype around some of them. Definitely didn't deliver too many memorable moments. Hopefully day 2 is a bit more enjoyable.

Hey man finally turned on Roman after all the abuse he put him under.

Night 2 seems to be the most interesting night out of the 2 in my opinion.

Wrestlemania day 2 was a lot better than day 1. Definitely enjoyed it better though the main event was pretty average and anti climatic. Overall I think Wrestlemania as a whole was pretty mid considering it is meant to be the premier PPV event in WWE.

Results for anyone who missed it:

I agree that it was pretty mid-card. My thoughts:

Night 1: Jey Uso winning the Championship against Gunther was a given considering that it had been building up since the Royal Rumble and that Gunther had the title for over a year. Also WWE looking at maximising and cashing in on the "Yeet" gimmick. They obviously learned their lesson not giving Daniel Bryan the Royal Rumble victory a few years ago leading fans to vent their anger.

New Day beating War Raiders was a stupid decision. They are obviously going to be one of those teams that retains by cheating etc... it was clear as daylight that they were going to win the title this was as well, and surprise surprise, it happened.

Jade Gargill beating Naomi was something foreseen, however Naomi returning on SmackDown and attacking Jade was not foreseen.

Jacob Fatu defeating LA Knight - well it seems that by LA Knight losing the title they might push him for the next level up and be one of Cena's opponents in the future. Jacob also deserves a mid-card title run.

El Grande Americano defeating Rey Fénix by pinfall... after using the steel plate, again, was freaking ridiculous. Why do something that had been tried before?

Tiffany Stratton beating Charlotte Flair was, to my surprise, one of the better results of the night. I can't stand Charlotte, boring on the mic and they always give her dirty wins.

Seth Rollins beating CM Punk and Roman Reigns by *surprise surprise* Paul Heyman turning on both, was over-hyped as the match was just a boring, on-going feud.

Night 2: Iyo Sky defeating Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley was one of the greater matches of the night. Again it was predictable as Iyo was the quieter one in this rivalry and the quieter one usually wins these kinds of matches.

Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest was a match I just flicked through, it was boring in my opinion.

Dirty Dom winning agains Bron Breakker, Finn Balor and Penta... again, predictable that he would win via dirty tactics.

Randy Orton beating Joe Hendry was just a time filler. It wasn't even long enough to be entertaining, however I don't think anyone saw Joe Hendry taking up the challenge.

Logan Paul vs AJ Styles, another yawn, boring match with nothing on the line.

Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch defeating Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez - we did see this win coming with Becky Lynch returning. Note: the following night on Raw when Becky was comforting Lyra in the ring after they lost the titles in the rematch, I saw her turning heel as there was no music playing in the background.

John Cena defeating Cody Rhodes - much like the previous nights World Title Match, everyone saw this happening even though dirty tactics were involved, and just on the dirty tactics, I think WWE is over-using them and they are now boring. There was 5 used in WrestleMania over both nights and I'm over them.

WrestleMania as a whole was 4/10 for me.

You are a generous marker. The only match I thought worth archiving was Gunther vs Jey Uso. This should have been the main event of Night One, not a three-way between three of the big names with nothing but bragging rights on the line. Surely the (admittedly second string) championship belt tops that!

Rhodes vs Cena was terrible. Cena has never been a good in-ring worker, and he is beginning to look like he has forgotten the little bit he once knew. My initial thought was that it was the worst Mania main event I have ever seen, but, when I searched the memory banks, I was able to recall a match between Hulk Hogan and some tall skinny guy, wearing a full length body suit with muscles painted on it in a vain effort to make him look jacked. Does anybody remember this classic? Anyone who thinks Vinny Mac was some kind of booking genius should have a look at this. The skinny bloke looked as though he'd been pulled from the audience - Bret Hart would have had his work cut out to get a match out of him, and Hulk was always hard pressed to get a match out of Hulk!

I'm not sure which one you're referring to.

Jey Uso beating Gunther was definitely a good match, but the result was one that I expected.

Tiffany beating Charlotte Flair was NOT a result I was expecting, which I why I liked it.

The Main Event I agree was lame, nothing but bragging rights on the line, but Heyman turning and aligning with Seth Rollins was all that people spoke about, not so much the result.

Night 2 had some good points. The first match was alright considering it was a women's match (Rhea Ripley is an awesome worker), and Finn Balor one step closer to turning face was also something worth note, as was Becky Lynch returning (even though she's turned heel).

Really? I was very certain that Tiffany would win.

Charlotte is entitled and gets everything she wants. She won the Royal Rumble as well after 14 months off so I thought that she was a sure thing.

It's Tiffy time though. HHH is building the women's division around her.

She's certainly talented enough. I wasn't a fan of her 12 months ago but she's come a long way since then. I do see her stuff a few moves up here and there but she's only 25 - plenty of time to work on those.

Mea Culpa! I should have had more sense than to rely on my memories of 30+ years ago without checking. I managed to condense two forgettable wrestlers into one. Giant Gonzales was the guy with the painted on muscles, and Zeus was a cartoon character brought to life by Vince. Both of them feuded with Hogan, and both of them faced him at lesser PPVs but not at Wrestlemania. Zeus was booked to take Hogan's title at Wrestlemania VI, but the Hulk refused to drop the belt to such an obvious bum, and Ultimate Warrior was tapped on the shoulder instead. Gonzales had a truly awful match with Undertaker at Wrestlemania IX.

The bottom line is that Rhodes vs Cena is firming up as the worst Mania main event of all time.
