One of the NRL’s most likeable and reliable veterans, Aiden Tolman, has celebrated his 250th NRL game in style with the Bulldogs scoring a massive 14-12 upset victory over Cronulla.

With more pressure building on under fire coach Dean Pay throughout the week, Canterbury came and produced another a really gutsy victory against a side many believe will be one of the real dark horses in the charge to this year’s finals series.

The Dogs charged to a 14-0 lead midway through the first half and managed to hold on for only their fourth win of the season.

The Dogs started strongly with Kieran Foran setting up two early tries for Will Hopoate and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak before Foran was forced off after 26 minutes with a hamstring injury.

The Sharks fought back with three unanswered tries but Shaun Johnson failed to land any of his three attempts.

The Sharks had plenty of chances but continually came up with fundamental errors and they just didn’t have the attitude to match the Dogs.

Despite their lethargic performance, Cronulla very nearly stole a late victory when Jack Williams scooped on a loose ball deep inside his own half and set out after the tryline.

It looked as though he was going to go the distance but the desperation of speedster Reimis Smith and Marcelo Montoya saved the try.

Jack Cogger was outstanding in Foran’s absence while youngster Brandon Wakeham replaced Foran and celebrated a win in his debut first grade match.

Earlier, the NRL bunker blunders continued after Cronulla was controversially awarded a try despite a knock-on in the build-up.

Less than two hours after the drama of Warriors winger David Fusitua’s four-pointer against the Panthers, the bunker woes continued at ANZ Stadium when Sharks star Shaun Johnson dotted down after pouncing on a loose ball following a charge by back-rower Briton Nikora.

Nikora lost the ball after it was stripped by Corey Harawire-Naera and fumbled it while trying to regather. Replays clearly showed Nikora’s left hand come into contact with the ball before it was propelled forward, but the bunker awarded the try to Johnson.

Unless you’ve got an account you can’t open it...
Yeah sorry I dont have an acct either. Read it on FB but cant copy and paste.

Saying it was knocked on by Sharks player trying to regather. Should have been penalty not try.

But there were 2 in the tackle when CHN stripped it? It should've been a penalty to Cronulla not a try or what?

Grey area because in the rules you can strip the ball (with multiple players in the tackle) when an opponent is attempting to ground the ball for a try.
It should’ve been a knock on from sharks,
After the strip ball hits his right hand and goes forward .

Didn’t the set start with one of our players getting stripped? Or was that one on one?

Pretty sure it was mentioned in the game day thread; Wakeham was the second tackler and appears to fall off the tackle, so should not even be a penalty, it was a knock on that was rewarded by bunker with try.

Even if they ruled it a strip
The crapolla player drops it a “second” time on the way down
At worse case scenario it’s a penalty to the shonks
It got sent up as loose carry and no try
He dropped it twice
Fcuk u u putrid cheating scum klein
