Round 18 Team News: Line-up finalised for Rabbitohs encounter

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have finalised their line-up to tackle the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Accor Stadium on Sunday 17th July, kicking off at 6:15PM AEST in Round 18 of the 2022 NRL Premiership.

Declan Casey is the notable inclusion, replacing Aaron Schoupp who was ruled out earlier in the week due to Covid-19. Whilst Chris Patolo has been named as the side's 18th man.

Forward Tevita Pangai Junior has recovered from a foot injury to take his place in the side for this Sunday's clash. The powerful lock has played an integral part in the team's yardage this season, and will link up with captain Josh Jackson and Corey Waddell in the back row.

Five-eighth Matt Burton has been named to back up from tomorrow's State of Origin decider to take place at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. Other notable changes include the return of Braidon Burns, who is back from a successful stint at NSW Cup level. It is the first time the centre will feature in the top flight suffering a hamstring injury against the Rabbitohs back in Round 6.

Head Coach Mick Potter has opted for a familiar combination in Max King and Paul Vaughan to pack down in the front row. With young back rower Kurt Morrin adding to his NRL experience, being named on the bench alongside forwards Raymond Faitala-Mariner and Joe Stimson.

Kiraz is so much better at centre. Hopefully he can still have an impact on the wing but his defensive reads are worse on the wing as opposed to when he plays centre.

Not a bad team tbh. Still don’t know who’s wife Topine fucked to not get a run over Stimson. I know he’s young, but surely he gets a run soon? Anyone have inside info?

Waddell is playing at 11 only till the end of this year, until Villiame Kikau arrives in 2023. What's the point in playing him?
Such a simplistic view. Why? Because he has been playing well, and is better then our other options.
Are you also conveniently forgetting that Topine is also off contract and unsigned for next year, just like waddel?

I agree and I think he will play at centre. In the same way that if TPJ is fit and plays. He will be prop not lock. It’s the same every week the numbers on the back mean little on game day.

Other options? Lol. The guy can't pass or run for shit. He get's smashed by centres every week. Topine and Patolo are way better options then him, and anyways when Sutton arrives next year, he will force Waddles out of the 17.

Yeah maybe. But with Burns there instead of Allan I wouldn't be surprised if Burns actually plays centre as he's not a winger at all, especially at this stage of his career.
