you dont slice the ball to kick a spiral, it is the angle you place the ball at, you do not kick off the outside foot. Balls these days do not get heavier also, leather balls did but not the new balls. Slippery yes, but they are so much better these days with the dimple patterns

Addo carr was miced up for the game. Coming up on Benji
Pretty embarrassing game for him to be mic'd up on... Be just him yelling at people all game as he only had 8 runs for 42m and made 9/13 tackles.

RFM knocking on over the line and Morrin pushing opposition player over the line.
The RFM try would have been awarded if it had been an opposition player scoring against the Dogs, and I really believe that would have been the game. When you are ahead on the scoreboard, it always puts pressure on the opposition, and, in those conditions, the pressure is ramped right up.

The NRL love to stuff us over mate. Not once has our club called out the refs. Not once. Other teams have done and have gotten the rub of the green afterwards. Our club just bends over backwards.

Penalty & re-start timeline

P = penalty

9:52 P Averillo CB 1
13:55 P Addo-Carr CB 2
20:39 R Burton CB 3
23:21 P Moylan CS 1
24:33 R Brailey CS 2
25:12 P King (CB) 1
26:51 R Tolman (CS) 1
30:11 P Hynes (CS) 2
31:36 P Katoa (CS) 3
34:14 R Talakai (CS) 4

---------------------------
44:26 R McInnes (CS) 6

So 6 penalties / set re-starts in a row is not worth a binning?

Guaranteed they would have binned a dogs player. Once again shows how badly treated we are.

Having watched the game I think what you should be taking away from it was that the game was a complete coin flip , the weather / conditions were a great leveller .
Your fullback was great , your hooker was good , your 5/8 was average and your 7 …. Well he’s terrible … absolute myth
Special mention to old mate Declan , absolute shocker … poor bloke we’ve all been there … even Joey played like shit once or twice , he kept trying and kept fucking up …. Not the reason you lost though
Tina turner dropping the ball over the line wasn’t the worst thing he did , his constant taking of runs that went sideways or for 3 mtrs when the ball should have got to the centres was terrible . It was like you had tolman and Jackson and Elliot back together taking runs where they should have been decoys and stopping every attack before it got started .
Also where did the early kicks for addo carr go ? Yes I realise it was pouring but it’s infinitely harder to turn and chase in the wet than it us in the dry .
That’s just bad execution and bad coaching .

The dogs played very barrettesq footy and well yeah it’s rubbish

On to the next match fellas

The NRL has got a huge problem with the perceived lack of impartiality of referees, and isn't making the slightest effort to address it. I am not sure if Sutton (he was in the bunker on Saturday) sets out to stick it to us or is merely incompetent, but, if the NRL were fair dinkum, they would have kept him away from our matches after the bottle throwing incident. Another organization in a similar position would go out of its way to avoid even the slightest suggestion of bias.

Years ago any contentious call automatically went in favour of the home team. These days the 50:50s go to the team most people expect to win the match - which in recent seasons has seldom if ever been the Dogs! Earlier in the season, Gus, in his best diplomatic fine-avoiding mode, had a comment to make about dodgy refereeing. He said something like (paraphrasing) "referees do not influence a match by the penalties they award, but by the penalties they should award but don't". Does anybody remember it?

Yes and its so true.

Then you get the argument from the dogs in the back office and flops on TV about how the penalty count is even bla bla but when you peel it back you will find penalties blown for the disadvantaged team were when the game was out of reach. Has happened to us for years.. they'll be laying all over the ruck and from 1st to 70th minute its play on but when they're up by 18 and there's 10mins to go its all of a sudden a penalty lol.
The 6 again rule was bad, we did not see it at the time because it apparently sped up the game, but now you are seeing teams take advantage of it and refs not being consistent with it which is bad for the game. Another rule that V'landys brought in (maybe before him) was the 7 tackle set from a 20 tap.. what a stupid rule? Makes zero sense. Watched internationals last week and the game was so much better without it, no advantages off a ball dead meaning teams would attack closer to the line more.
We saw another reactive band aid solution to the 6 agains with penalties given inside the 40. Whats the next band aid approach going to be?? Just dumb from NRL.
