What has it gone so bad for the bulldogs in 2022?

Any professional organisation will tell you that you need a solid backbone in the NRL 1,6,7,9 and 13.
Yet the head honchos thought they could splutter all there finances else where on different positions for a better return.
They were wrong
At the moment we have
1 Dufty -Definitely playing the worst football of his career with us
6-Burton our major lynchpin trying his best but due to 7 ,1 , 9 and 13 failings has struggled.
7 Flanagan -gave us false hopes of improvement but has gone into his poor form again
13-Lock has killed our poor captains career and also his form.
9 Marshall tackling and nothing else doing not even a offload not one,why run the ball then if you won’t pass?

How much will we improve in 2023 depends on our spine ins and skills.

Our spine is easily the worst in the competition until Gus bolsters those numbers we are Woodward bound .
Some relief next year coming with Kikau and Mahoney maybe if we take a gamble with this in our spine
1) Josh Ado Carr
6)Burton
7)?????????????
9)Mahoney
13)Kikau

I wasn’t sure of 7 as this year that is the number that’s also as important as 6 ,burton will struggle if 7 struggles also.
If that 7 can stand up there is hope moving forward.
For us 7 is the most wanted position now we need to get sorted for the rest of this year and next year.

What can the bulldogs do to improve for the rest of 2022?
Now is the time for these guys to filter into the first grade team

JAC at Fullback? I can live with it as long as we have a excellent Winger that is a polished finisher. Then we have the problem with our misfiring forwards who continue to be unfit at best. As for the second row, they are done. Waddell and Stimson can no longer claim these roles in 2023. Naden and Okenbur should remain in the Reggies. I will address the 7 next week.

Throwing rookies into this mess isn’t going to do a thing besides hinder their development.
Kiraz did alright getting thrown into the mess a few weeks ago. Looked a level above our team despite coming from a level below.
You’re right that a long term stay would hinder his development though with the current regime

Id rather rookies than the shit our first graders give us week in week out. Im sick of the dumb errors, how can we not fucking catch a ball or hold on to a ball, do they not believe in sticky spray?

Problem was that you can’t attract good spine players without a bit of x-factor around them to give them interest. Hence why Kikau needed that photo to seal the deal with Mahoney. Spine players want a Kikau, JAC or TPJ floating around to take some pressure off them.

I hope not! Id rather something different than the same shit we dish out. Every supporter deserves so much more for the shit we have to cop.

What’s with the negative nancys with the ruin our next batch of juniors?
Dean pay used to get 20-30 games into our boys and now we have a bunch of duds wearing our jersey what do you prefer?

He also didn’t finish the game due to cramps so he might need some time to adjust to NRL. A couple of games here and there would be good for him.

kiraz needs to be put in now, fresh or not he showed a lot of promise and with how the season is May as well start building his confidence. Massive talent and he’s keen to show it… in fact won’t lose but gain confidence as he’s coming into a team that are cooked and he can have fun and just let his skills grow with no pressure.!! Good for him to keep tasting FG because he will be an xfactor.!!!

get him ready for next year NOW, it will only be a positive.!!

Despite that he showed enough in one half to earn a new contract and have the kennel picking him in their best 17 (probably the tougher achievement of the two). Probably worth being thrown in I’d say

I’d give people 2-3 weeks before they starting calling for their heads as well. If not the Dean Pay excuse will come out about them needing 50 games under their belt.

I tend to agree mate but certain guys need to be replaced they are costing us from winning games. Dufty is playing like he’s already been told to move on so he might as well.

The alarming thing is there’s more players that deserve to be dropped than stay in the team. You’re right about Dufty though he should be on top of the list followed by Naden.
