At least the majority of their families travelled with them unlike the Warriors who are now having difficulties in remaining relatively happy whilst separated from them.

The Storm are set to spend more than a month in Queensland after being told they will need to remain away from Melbourne for at least 28 days once the COVID-19 spike in the Victorian capital goes down.

Melbourne's players relocated to Sydney last Wednesday to prepare for Friday's clash with the Warriors at Kogarah, which was initially due to be played at AAMI Park.

They went further north to the Sunshine Coast after the match to prepare for this Thursday's home game against the Roosters, which will now be played at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium due to biosecurity fears if they returned to Melbourne.

Storm veteran Dale Finucane on Monday said many of the players' partners and families had also made the trip north to be with the team.

NRL acting CEO Andrew Abdo addressed the squad on Sunday night and Finucane said they had not been given an end date for their stay in the Sunshine State but he was expecting to be away from home until at least August.

"I think given that the numbers are increasing in Victoria in terms of what's happening with the virus, it's not looking like any time soon," he said.

"They wanted a period of 28 days once the virus has slowed."

In team news, Storm five-eighth Cameron Munster will have scans on his injured knee on Monday afternoon to determine the extent of the damage suffered during the win over the Warriors.
