Broncos coach Kevin Walters has confirmed the club is interested in signing both Brandon Smith and Cameron Smith from the Storm as he hinted at his plans on a number of big selection calls.
Brandon Smith is free to negotiate with rival clubs for after the 2021 season, while Cameron is due to make a decision on his future before Christmas.
Walters believes both players would be a huge asset for the club and would fit in well with the culture he is trying to build.
“Any player that ends in Smith we are interested in,” Walters said.
“We are interested in anyone of his (Brandon Smith) quality. He has been a great player at the Storm and he is a very young player also, so there will be some interest from us.
“I think it is more about what he can do on the football field.
“Obviously his character is very strong and he is a very laid back style of person, but what he does on the field he is very exciting watching him play.
“I love his attitude and the way he goes about his work on the field. He would fit nicely in a Broncos jersey.
“Cameron Smith would be a big signing for any club. I think there are a lot of players unsigned at many clubs. I think there will be a lot of movement in rosters still.
“If there does become an opportunity to improve our roster we will certainly do it if we can.”
Meanwhile Walters revealed his thinking on a number of important selection calls, including where Corey Oates will play and who will line up at fullback.

“We have been training Corey on the edge and that is where we feel he is best suited for us,” Walters said.
“He has played a lot of games on the wing Corey, but not too many in the back row.
“So it is about for the next 10 weeks or so getting him accustomed to that position and the different challenges that positions throws up.
“Jamayne (Isaako) is in the right position to make that No.1 jumper his own, but we just want consistency.

“That is what we want with all our players and what we do at training transfers onto the field.
“Tesi (Niu) has been training a bit at fullback as well, so both those guys are very good young players.
“Jamayne is probably a bit more experienced in the fullback role and played more NRL, so at the moment they are both just working hard trying to fight it out for that No.1 jumper.”
