SPECULATION is rife Canterbury are preparing a massive deal for Sea Eagles five-eighth Kieran Foran.
It was reported on Tuesday Manly are in a state of disarray, with the Kiwi international apparently keen to move at the end of the year and two-time premiership-winning centre Steve Matai seeking an immediate release.
It is understood Gold Coast have offered Matai a lucrative three-year deal but want him part of their 2015 roster.
The 30-year-old’s management is chasing a three-year deal for him, with new Sea Eagles boss Joe Kelly only offering a contract for 2016 and 2017.
Kieran Foran, Jamie Lyon and Steve Matai celebrate a Manly win.

If Foran was to jump ship, Parramatta were believed to be the frontrunners to snare him for the long term.
They are cashed up following Jarryd Hayne’s departure to the NFL and Foran is very close to coach Brad Arthur from his time under Geoff Toovey in 2013.
But the Manly Daily understands Des Hasler’s Bulldogs are very close to getting their man, a move which would horrify scores of fans in maroon and white.
“It is typical Des, flying under the radar,’’ a source said yesterday.
Foran and halfback Daly Cherry-Evans are both off contract at the end of 2015.
