I see no harm in keeping Foran on a cheap contract. Especially if we got Maloney and he was the dominant half. I mean he’d probably sign for the same amount as Lewis so if Maloney was there seems like a no brainer.
Onto the forwards seems like all the non-islander forwards are practically the same player and would play the same whatever number was on their back. Throw Elliot into that equation to a degree as well. Quite bizarre.

He's still really fit, good defender and good leader who can guide the team around the park. He's no Kimmorley, but this is the situation we find ourselves in we need a strong voice out there calling the shots because we look lost.

I dont think the "spine" needs to be about two halves - quality fb, quality dummy half and one dominant half - obviously preferred to have two quality halves but if the dummy half n fb do a good job one dominant half is enough. A a running five eight with a big boot would be enough to compliment a good half fb n dummy half in most games to be at least competitive. Too many ball players - more than 2 or 3 - or players trying to be ball players doesnt usually create a balanced team. That doesnt mean you dont have more than two or three players capable of being ball players n creativity though.

Still doesn't change the fact he'd improve us immensely. Even though he never set the world on fire, the calming influence of Hodkinson helped us so much, I feel Chad would do the same for us and would allow whoever our 6 is to simplify their game
