Southerly change appreciation thread

Don't know if its an old man's tale but if you have ducted air, water down the outdoor unit thing.

Apparently it makes a difference.
That works but this got to be mineral free water and all that. I probably should've cleaned the unit a while ago tbf lol

Came early.
Story of my life.

It was 43 degrees today. I moved house today. No movers, just me, a mate and a truck.

I would like it to snow now please.
I did mow my lawns at about 3pm. Probably the hottest part but still easier imo than working a trade in these conditions. Plus added bonus of the beer afterwards and admiring the lawn!!

A friend told me today that the usual company that does the mowing cancelled due to the heat saying that they aren't allowed to mow during a total fire ban. They then posted on Facebook saying that you aren't allowed to mow during a total fire ban as it could cause a fire.

I said to her, "they're going to a crap load of effort to get out of mowing your lawn"

Guy opposite us is doing a knock down and rebuild. He was out in the heat all day doing hard, physical work.
The benefit of youth, I guess.

43C in the shade, on our back deck. 26C in the house (solar and battery, so a/c power is free).

Back yard has big shade trees, and we put plenty of water in the yard, for the birds and we are seeing all types of bird coming in looking for an escape from the blistering sun.

Southerly came through earlier than expected, so I was able to open up and get fresh air through the place, and a good night's sleep.

Friends up in Winton have been watching the Western River creep into town and flood the underneath of their home. What a contrast in the same country.

Hope everyone got through it all OK.

Dam it is coming down at home right now. Haven't had this type of intense rainfall for well on ver a year
