we dont have an out and out swing bowler bar hilfy, hence why he will be in

ichose out of the players there
and magoffin averages 18 in first class
and that wouldnt add much
i regret mcgain in the side now but im sure others would have had him before the match
i think bollinger deserves to be in the side.
we couldnt get the required wickets with hilfie and mcgain not at their best.
Mcdonald was poor with the ball but reprived himself with the bat
great innings!
johnson can now be classified as an allrounder imo
123 n.o in the situation he was in is amazing.
his technique was brilliant along with the slogfest.
5 sixes is good for anyone yet alone a tail ender.
and i think magoffin will not be useful due to his lack movement and pace.
watched many FR cup games and wasnt impressed.
he bowls a few deliveries at 140 but nothing over.

After the match
my team for the ashes would definetely be:

hughes
katich
ponting
hussey ( if back in form ) / C. White ( might not agree, but hes shown hes capable of being a batsmen) . Scored a century and 70 odd in the shield final this year. Hes still only 25.
Clarke
North
Haddin
Lee ( has to be in the side , imo one of the most feared bowlers in world cricketWHEN FIT)
Johnson
Siddle
Clark

Although hilfie can swing it, he lacks zip and pace and hitting the deck hard to trouble good batsmen like pietersen and strauss.

Krejza should be a certainty for the trip, with hauritz or maybe another spinner e.g. c.simpson, c.bailey, d.cullen

And finally, we should have a squad of about 18 like all other ashes tours.
Magoffin averaged about 37 this season in first class cricket.

Lack of movement? He can move the ball in the air and off the seam, tall man also and gets extra bounce. I think he'd do well.

Krejza has looked the best of the spinners tried since the India tour so i'd agree with his selection. Cullen Baileys played what 1 Shield game all season, he looked promising when he first came onto the scene but has been pretty poor ever since. Dan Cullen like Bailey struggles to crack the SA side in any form of the game of late so I dunno where your ideology is behind them 2. Chris Simpson I think with a good year for QLD next year could get a look in for the Aussie ODI side only.

Well after monkey man's latest antics it's pretty safe to say his days of playing in the baggy green are well and truely over.

1-0 Australia!!!

hussey is back to form with 80 odd not out having an awesome partnersip with hauritz at the end to get the score over 280!

Hauritz then got 4/29 to own the saffas and win by nearly 150 runs. oh yeah

Aus 1-0

Nathan Hauritz. FFS.

The saffers must really be rubbish if this guy can take four wickets against them.

he's not an attacking spinner but he isnt easy to hit either, pressure = wickets esp when you over 280 runs to get.

he is a useful ODI bowler imo

btw with that win were back to No1 in the world for ODIs :p we need to win the series to keep it

No.1 in the world in Tests and ODI's.

And we're in a "slump".

Ian Botham reckons england will win the Ashes easily. I think he's talking from his botham.
