Fact Brandon Lee was a Penrith junior from St .Marys .
But he learnt how to win at the Bulldogs first and became a premiership player there in 1988.

It's just the way the world is now. Go to any local comp in any sport, especially for juniors and you'll see there's way less sportsmanship than before and people carry on more than ever.

I always grew up on the mantra of even if you do something good when you play, act like you've done it before and always be a good sport and never show up your opponent..

Nowadays it's, if you do something half decent, act like you're the greatest player who ever lived, talk a whole bunch of shit and rub your opponents face in it.
Yep, win with humility. The only thing worse than a sore loser is an arrogant disrespectful winner in my books.

Coaching players to be humble champion players has been relegated and replaced with punk wannabe attitude and trash talk opponents it seems. Great example for future players this team (not).

Brandy and MG didn't see anything wrong with the way the Panthers tossers carried on and tried to justify it. Seems to be no shortage of flogs in and around the whole Panthers organisation.

Fact: your 1991 premiership winning fullback was Greg Barwick, a Bulldogs junior that Gould took with him.
Was actually a good player but injuries took a hold of him-

Barwick had established a reputation as a powerful kicker in open play but was going nowhere with the Bulldogs until he followed coach Phil Gould to Penrith in 1990. There he developed into a rock-solid fullback with a devastating ability to chime into the attack. Barwick was an integral part of the Panthers' premiership-winning team in 1991 but joined Norths the following year. A series of injuries resulted in three seasons of obscurity with the Bears before signing with the Sydney Tigers for 1995 and showing something like his earlier form. Barwick spent the 1996 & 1997 seasons with the London Broncos.

For all that junior base penrith were pretty pathetic until Gus fixed them. The Penrith players deserve all the hate they attract constantly carrying on like wankers and their last two premierships will always have covid asterisks anyway

Brandon Lee was a weapon and one of my favourite players during his time at the bulldogs.

Daryl Brohman, another that joined the bulldogs from the panthers was a very intelligent and skilled front rower, and after returning to play at penrith he then returned again to the bulldogs to coach reserve grade.

And of course Frank Pritchard

I'm happy to give them their moment because they worked for it, but this is going to be all the more sweeter when their decline starts and they turn into yet another shit team making up the numbers. It's already starting with 2 of their starting GF players moving on to other teams in 2023.
