Premiers the Bulldogs are still feeling the corporate fallout from the Coffs Harbour scandal last year.

The Dog's sleeve sponsor-ship with ADCO expired at the end of last season, with the building industry heavy-weight opting not to renew.

The company which came to the rescure with a steal of a deal - Auto Group, tipped in just over $100,000 for 2005.

The other catch, Sydney Roosters chairman Nick Politis is a major shareholder in the company.

The last line was injected to stir up both camps ahead of their clash in round 6. I doubt a major shareholder, will influence an entire board of shareholders, to opt out from sponsoring a successful club? To my knowledge, Adco had the option of pulling the plug during the CH scandal, but they opted to stick solid.

I read this as Politis is the share holder of the Auto Group? Interesting eitherway, why is he choosing Bulldogs over his beloved Roosters?

Bing Lee were the biggest losers for sponsorship. They could have been sponsoring the premiers but chose to opt out. That is their loss and Auto Groups gain in the end.

the only thing dale ford "did" have was that Politis' brother was in charge of Ford Australia, which in turn had the RJV (or Retail Joint Venture) which owned most of the Ford Dealerships in NSW (except for Peter Warren and City Ford)
But now thats all changed, and Dale ford is run by a South African company as of last week

He also owns shares in Bronco's ( a heap of them). He is a business man through and through and he makes money everywhere...and talking about your sponsorships - Canterbury's sponsorships was shown up in an article in a paper earlier this year - about 4 or five other clubs have more sponsorship. But this is probably still a fall out from last year and the year before...some more smart work need to be done by the comittee to get people to forget
