Melbourne being the back water of the NRL they could have hidden just about anything if it happened there. The incidents with previous Melbourne players Proctor and Asofa Solomona etc occurred whilst not in the custody of the Storm.......one once they had moved on and the other whilst on a tour with their national team. There was also the shadow of Ryan Tandy who was caught for a naughty thing at the Dogs....Although JAC done for a few silly things whilst there. Where there is smoke there is fire.......

If there is any possibility of this being true would the following still be the case?

Melbourne will happily re-sign star NRL winger Suliasi Vunivalu should his switch to rugby union fall through.

Vunivalu is set to depart the Storm at the end of the NRL season after inking a massive deal with Queensland Reds and Rugby Australia late last year.

But since then the financially-stricken RA has been looking to slash costs with Australia's professional players taking an average 60 per cent salary cut until the end of September.

Vunivalu told AAP he was still keen to play rugby if his two-year contract was guaranteed, and would prefer to stay with the Storm if he remained in the NRL.

The 24-year-old said his family was settled in Melbourne and he loved the club, where he made his debut in 2016.

That was welcome news for coach Craig Bellamy, who said he spoke to Vunivalu on Friday morning about staying on.

I don't think this indiscretion will get him sacked.. perhaps a slap on the wrist by a magistrate

A 60% pay cut for Rugby players? I knew they were struggling for money but that's insane. NRL players took a 6% pay cut this year by comparison.

One of the differences would be the fact that super rugby relies on international travel, so effectively, it's just the 4 or 5 Aussie teams playing each other. This doesnt generate the sort of revenue the get from playing against NZ sides etc.

That's true.. The ARU was struggling as it was so the lack of revenue and cash flow could cripple them.
