It seem obvious to me that shaun will not start the season in first grade , played nsw cup on the weekend and wasent in the top 28 players the jersey presentation tonight ? Anyone know.why

It does seem strange to leave Shaun Lane out; he has already shown he has first grade ability. On top of that he is still maturing/ improving.

Maybe its just a Des Haslr mind thing like: "You're already in first grade son, you don't need a triall".

We're not privy to what goes on behind closed doors.
For all we know lane turned up in the pre-season with an attitude and wasn't performing.
Although, he looked a class above when he played in the NSW cup trial.

trex will start the season as a starter, lane will either be on the bench or ressies but he'll get a chance regardless and if he performs like he did last year then he'll stick in the team like he did last year, if he doesn't, he'll be another jake foster who everyone thought would be a long term edge back rower after his solid rookie year

i agree they are pretty close in terms of defence, but imo Lane is worse.

Lane is a completely different prospect to foster, he's the size of a dump truck with an engine to boot. He's going to be a star.
