Well said, Sexton has handled this with class and it will serve him well moving forward, unlike others in his situation. He'll go away and make a bit of coin in super league, travel around Europe and see a bit of the world and then come back to one of the new clubs or be signed as a depth player somewhere. Something tells me we haven't seen the last of this bloke in the NRL and I respect him for his composure and attitude during the last few months, he is mature beyond his years. Thanks for your service to the Dogs and hopefully you still play a role leading into the back end of the year.

I think the space and slower game will suit him well. And I wouldn't be suprised if he just stayed over there if he kills it.

I dare say, Sexton was shown his statistics in the competition in private by the coaching staff and kept motivating him to improve them. I think Ciraldo must have said, this is it, time to improve now because we are running out of time this season before we have to make a run for it into the finals. His statistics did not improve for attack and he knew his time was limited with Galvin arriving and he quickly signed a deal overseas - because no one was knocking in the NRL to pay overs for a half that delivered poor stats in attack.

End of the day, he is being coached by Taylor on the side. He plays like Taylor did. There is a reason Taylor always fell short when playing for Norths when they got the to the finals. You can do all those other things right, but you also need to be able to play what you see, and Taylor was never good at doing that.

you could also argue that Taylor as studied the game a lot for the last 10 to 15 years and was hitting the glass ceiling on Toby's development. It's on thing to understand what you are meant to do, its another thing to execute under pressure. This was not happening.

Please note, if you want to make a deal with this user, that it is blocked.
They improve actual running speed as well as muscle recovery?

I didnt know.

So all those posts with Roger the running coach and his confirmation that Xerri hadn't lost his speed was all bs?

We haven't seen evidence of him outsprinting anyone so I guess you're right.
Roger is one of the weirdest blokes involved with league outside of Steven. Wouldn’t take his word at face value
Also HE HASNT QUIT his contract didn’t get extended idiots.

IT should say sexton signs with super league get it right….!!!!!!!
HE QUIT JOHNNY

Taylor was one of the best short range kickers ever, he was also a master goal kicker. Maybe the problem is not the teacher.

Didn’t JT get the scum to a minor premiership and grand final in 2001?
