Once again, it's the length of the contract that is the problem.

TPJ (or any other highly fancied player) on big bucks for 2 years wouldn't be a problem.

By the time you realise they aren't good value for money, they only have 6months left.

And if they prove to be worth it, just offer them an extension and even if you had to pay abit of a premium to retain, at least you know they are a "fit" for your team. And that surely must carry some value

I guess the silver lining is he only has one year left then he'll hopefully be gone (unless he has a massive season but I don't see it)
 
I think the Bulldogs would have to pay 1.4 million get him to Belmore
 
Brisbane is only a chance of winning the competition now due to recruitment in other areas. Haas is a great player in his position, but for the money he would command i don't see it being what we need.
 
Haas is no chance of joining us. He'll stay in Brisbane.

As long as he is not advising Haas how to honour a contract.
 
Don’t live in false hope …

We’ll just be used again by player managers to add a few zero’s to their contracts … that’s it ..

If we have a $1mill/$1.5 to spend .. go buy 2 or three Horsbrah type work horses .. players who are being held back by these elite type players ..

Got to stop thinking $million dollar quick fixes and work towards success ..

That's why the coast won't win a comp IMO...you go there to escape league..not play it.
