The bit that doesn't make sense to me is if Phoebe Burgess drove him to the garage...wouldn't that mean that she was complicit in the whole thing? Also why should she need someone to tell her what happened to the samples if she was there?
Somewhat true, but she can easily say that she had no idea what was going on and thought it was normal. Plus, she's come out and basically thrown him under the bus so she will be looked after.

It depends on what the NRL's definition of being "part of the cover up" extends too. If some of the players knew of Sam's antics and said nothing, I doubt they could be held accountable for that. However if any lol@souffs execs/admin/staff knew or Crowe knew and said nothing, they could be in much bigger trouble for NOT reporting it as they have an obligation to do so. And that's where the punishments will get very heavy.
Surely Crowe knew. The amount of time he spent on Crowes property and his Woolloomooloo apartment, he would have been only doing one thing there and that's bendering with a bunch of escorts lol

I agree Crowe would've known, proving it to the point where punishment is warranted is another matter entirely.

NRL 2020: South Sydney CEO doubles down on Sam Burgess appointment for 2021

South Sydney CEO Blake Solly has indicated the club will forge ahead with plans for Sam Burgess to coach the Rabbitohs’ SG Ball team next season.

The former club captain last week stood down from his role as an assistant to Wayne Bennett in response to explosive claims published in The Australian newspaper.

Burgess is under investigation by both NSW Police and the NRL Integrity Unit after the bombshell report accused the ex-England international of alleged drug use and domestic violence.

The 31-year-old’s lawyer denied all allegations made against his client during a court appearance for a separate matter on Wednesday and also accused Burgess’ ex-wife Phoebe of spreading ‘orchestrated propaganda’.

Burgess and fellow Rabbitohs legend John Sutton were recently appointed as co-coaches for the club’s SG Ball side in 2021.

As first reported by Fairfax Media, Solly confirmed Burgess will take the reins of the under-19s team next season in response to a member’s question about the Rabbitohs’ ongoing partnership with Souths Juniors.

“I think last week it was announced that the Juniors and the senior club will have a closer relationship on the pathways, Sam Burgess and John Sutton will be the coaches of our SG Ball team next year which is a first,” Solly said in the video posted to the club’s official website on Thursday.

All SG Ball coaches must be cleared by the NSW Rugby League (NSWRL) before commencing a head coaching role.

Burgess played 270 NRL games for the Rabbitohs before his shock retirement last October.

The dual international has previously expressed his ambitions to pursue a coaching career.

She only has to mention that she feared for the safety of herself and the kids, and they'll wave any potential wrongdoing there.

Well i guess she could say that but it doesn't sound all that plausible...not sure if a judge would go for it. I know Bargearse is a complete knob head but I doubt he held a gun to her head and made her drive him. Sounds to me like she was complicit but is now trying to act ignorant in order to avoid any blow back.

This debate over Phoebe is pretty misdirected. Shane Warne's mum didn't stop him from copping a ban. A bloke has to take responsibility for the things he does himself, and athletes are told what they can and can't do. Likewise the club knows what the relevant rules are, so does the Dr. They are the ones who are culpable on these matters.

Fair enough. I agree with the culpability angle. I guess the point i'm trying to make is if the judge/court thinks one aspect of her testimony is bollocks then it may cast doubt on other accusations she's made....at least in the courts mind.

Text messages might be pretty damning on a few fronts hopefully.
